They dont want diversity in its true meaning. They just want to hire whoever they want, from wherever they want. And "diversity" is the camouflage they hide behind. https://web.archive.org/web/20220218114915&#

This sounds like the kind of thing you say when you are annoyed but cant find a good argument against the points being made.

In a similar vein to Dick Proenneke's book, have a read of "An Island to Oneself" by Tom Neale. It's about a guy who lived alone on a remote island in the Pacific. Incredibly calm and peaceful book about living a life co

Similar to "Alone in the Wilderness" I recommend a recent doco series "The Last Alaskans". Unlike most recent reality/doco style shows it's not the usual melodramatic, exaggerated rubbish. The characters speak

Big tech is not going to take TikTok off their platforms. They want to sell stuff in China and dont want risk the push-back. The calculus is pretty simple. Their profit trumps the national interest. I know, I must be some kind of extremist

Accurate though. I think Trump has been a wonderful diversion for particular sectors of society. All they have to do is accuse their critics of being Trump supporters and immediately they become the good guys. No matter their self-interest

If you're wealthy and hired a public relations consultant to manage the optics regarding your excessively large carbon footprint, this is the kind of argument they'd be making.

Agree completely. Joe Rogan gets attacked because he is successful ( large audience) and he doesnt constrain himself to the narrow railroad tracks of a particular ideology (which would be incredibly boring).

I had exactly the same thought. My guess is a dog-whistle is expressing an opinion the user of the word "dog-whistle" doesn't like. There doesn't seem to be much more to it than that.

The story of the immigrant experience and trying to fit into a foreign culture is as old as humanity itself. To be honest I now find these kind of stories a little tedious and boring. Being an immigrant is not remotely a special or interest
