I guess different definitions for "bloat" but how is it bloat to have a tiny team taken care of a fundamental piece of infrastructure? if the team is now gone, an issue there would mean hours of downtime. If that's acceptable

Yes, I just checked and LCBO's (Ontario province quasi-monopoly on alcohol) and the cheapest bottle of wine is CAD $7.25, an Ontario one so probably terrible. Gallo is CAD $11 which I guess is the US $5 option. Cheap wine bottles are a

In terms of keeping time and no unrelated features, the CASIO G-shock tough solar radio are the best. Cheap, durable, solar and synchronized via radio (plus other things like chronometer and word times).

Looks to me the author hasn't run different workloads in different production clusters of any complexity. Advise is fine for a small predictable cluster but too simplistic for any real complex cluster.

There's a greater chance in most places to have your passport lost or stolen from you than losing it from somebody breaking into your hotel room I think (zero data to back this). It's also a hassle; you want to go to the beach and

what's the use case for backing up running containers? the code in the docker image is immutable (or should be), config goes into .env file and permanent data should go to a mounted volume in the host or an external database, so what d

StatefulSets are introduced as "when you need persistent storage" and not a lot more than that. A key idea that is often skipped is that k8s doesn't want to presume how a cluster of "database" nodes ("database&

Something that can help is "greasing the path" to the task so you make it easier to start. Say you want to go to the gym tomorrow. Instead of thinking "I'll see tomorrow when I can go", you can block time in your ca
