This task becomes more difficult once you need to undo calculations performed on the GPU. Not sure I will encounter a nice way to reverse those operations without numerical inaccuracies.

Why not here? - if someone is going to put something "in my face" that does not work (for me), I do not feel it inappropriate to respond in the same forum.

Yeah I feel like I am playing "Where's Wally", randomly Option-key clicking various different things to see what I can do. I guess that's fun for some people, but in my opinion a Menu, is supposed to layout all the optio

I agree entirely, however don't forget that most people who buy them don't know what UNIX even is.

I get "Error: Unable to create WebGLTexture." every time I try and run a sample. I got a 780ti, so its no graphics hardware problem...?

Agreed. As most things in life, a balance is required.

I am a developer and get lots done, but I don't have to work in a sweat shop where I have so much pressure that I cannot have the occasional social conversation or entertain someone else's occasional social conversation. In my opi

I think I will wait until these A380's are "broken in" before getting on one if I have the choice.

I predict that the bits of the illusion will deteriorate with the paint on the road, leaving a big mess :)

This holds up to a point, but if your role is so demanding that you cannot hold a conversation (presuming a work conversation but also applies to social - up to a point obviously), then your either not very good at your job or your employer

I wonder if this could be applied to "incomplete" 3D models and the work shifted to the GPU!?

I don't think assigning a pecking order and then debating it is important because in my opinion, an Engineering Manager has the job of connecting the business to the engineers. For this to work he/she needs to engage both. What to

I don't believe there is such a thing as a dumb question. If you don't understand something, have the confidence to ask - at any point, not just week 1. That way, you will learn. And more importantly, people, especially those who

The problem should be the ability to sift through and recognize patterns in the massive amounts of data collected, in a manner that provides value to end users. The problem of data (IO) collection/remote collection is long solved. Th

I feel your pain. Luckily i'm typing this on the best macbook pro the 2015 model (that's not saying much). It even has a real escape key and a couple of ports. Still need a dongle to get a displayport output though. I installed Wi

Yep recent advances surely make this easier, but if your supporting older version of opengl you options are limited.

Anything that involves a massive amount of independent floating point computations can easily be offloaded to the GPU. It is more complicated, when each floating point computation depends on the result of other floating point computations

Programming anything non trivial in OpenGL that is intended to be used on a variety of GPU's in an efficient manner, is a royal pain in the butt. This is because of the black box that opengl provides. This makes things simpler but I&#x

This vastly differs depending on what software you write. I have done lots of necessary performance optimizations. Of course, there is a balance. To say never first optimize, is as bad as optimizing everything, in my opinion. It should requ
