For anyone looking to self-host something google music like, you may want to take a look at https://www.navidrome.org/ Been using that for a few months now and very happy with it, even if it's still quite early in deve

This looks pretty cool, but to be perfectly honest. At the moment I'd be quite weary to use this. And the reason is that I have no idea who you are and if you can write crypto code. Please don't take this as an offence, i'm s

I of course agree with all of this, but as someone pretty much at the bottom of the food chain who just wants to encrypt some data, there's often no libraries that safely glue the primitives together in the way that I require. Granted,

Multiple chromium forks are working at integrating chrome (desktop) extensions (and some already have experimental support). As soon as they do, there's really no point in using firefox anymore. Especially since they seem to give zero

Similar in Switzerland. There are multiple providers building FTTH infrastructure and wiring houses. But each house is only wired once and the government mandates that if you build FTTH infrastructure, you have to rent out the (dark) fiber

Yes and no. NoiseTorch also has VAD (Voice Activity Detection). RNNoise also returns the probability of a sound sample being voice, I use that to clamp the microphone completely if its < the configured probability. This works really well

NoiseTorch uses RNNoise, which uses a mix of deep learning and DSP to remove noise. I haven't used module-echo-cancel yet, but it's probably "just" classical DSP, rnnoise may deliver better results.

Hey (author here) I have personally not noticed voice quality suffering too much, but you are of course right. And this is not what it was made for. My personal use case is mostly voip where RNNoise (imo) does an amazing job.
