Doesn't matter, you should still encrypt anything. If they manage to break it, cool. If they use it against you it will become public knowledge what ciphers have been broken by the 404-Agency. Then just switch to a different cipher or

No. From the truecrypt FAQ [0]: > The ciphertext block size used by TrueCrypt is 16 bytes (i.e., 128 bits). Meaning one bitflip should only sync 16 bytes since dropbox only transmits deltas. Of course this now depends on dropbox' de

I don't think you have that sidechannel with AES-NI. Besides, as a physical attacker cold boot attack would be much easier Or if the server has any interfaces with DMA, like PCI or something, that's even easier.

Wait? You can reset a facebook password by having 3 friends confirm? What the? First of all getting 3 friends to pull a prank on someone should be fairly easy. Other than that you can just create 3 fake accounts and get the victim to add yo

Well, that's a different question. A fully fledged analysis of this exploit would certainly be interesting. But it's an 0day, I think it's more important to patch vulnerable servers first. And I don't see what's stopping anyone from submitt

Well, to be fair it's rather easy to spot what this is doing. Looking at the last two lines of code: assert(!setuid(0)); return execl("/bin/bash", "-sh", NULL); It spawns a root shell, so it's (probably) a (local) privilege esc

Oh that one I didn't see, thanks. However, it makes me wonder why Gnome/KDE can "hijack" this key combination. I mean it is a bit strange for a userland application to be able to intercept kernel level features.
