Yes, Denmark, Sweden and Norway are similar. Sweden is not a net exporter of oil AFAIK. But oil is the biggest export of Denmark. Norway just has a lot more. Only Russia and Saudi Arabia exports more oil than Norway IIRC.

I doubt that they will lower the payments from the member states based on this. And if they did, I doubt that the member states will reduce the tax burdens because of that. They have given fines out before. If anyone can point to an example

In this case it's mo' money mo' problems :) If the government spends the money you don't get the same result as if it is spent privately. Economics is a social science, not a natural science such as physics, nor is it pure math. Part of th

First of all in this case I don't think there is a correlation between government spending and life expectancy. A graph with 3 selected countries and two bars is not a correlation. It is not scientific either. I'll quote from http://en.wi

Yes, that should have been "imply". Sorry, I'm not a native english speaker. So with that out of the way do you think there is anything wrong with "correlation does not imply causation"? Denmark has high government spending too. But the ave

I think authoritarian vs. non authoritarian is more useful than left-right. For instance in the US both of the big parties are authoritarian and are pushing big government. To me they are very similar. That it is leftist doing censor ship i

France economic policy doesn't look so bad if you compare it to other failed policies and look at them in a myopic way. So they throw in a graph with life expectancy and total public spending as a % of GDP. France ranks high on both (compar

I loathe state media. The idea that the government runs media is very 1984. And they don't work for free, they just make money by forcing you to pay at gunpoint instead. They are not neutral (which is impossible) so there are certain ideas

It's not novel, really. People have been using other operators around the world since shortly after the iPhone release. I can pay less than $23 and receive as many calls as I want for a year on my iPhone. That's not in the US though. I have

The only reason you would need the physical original SIM card is to get the numbers you need to make the SIM clone. (IIRC) I think that the phone companies have all the keys you need. Of course they don't just give them out to anyone who as

Spoofing my own Danish SIM card was how I first got the iPhone to work with a Danish carrier in later summer 2007. That was one of the first method used around the world to get the iPhone to work outside of the US. Before the software hacks

Why should the next generation of tax payers be forced to pay for them? People can save money, while they are working. It shouldn't come as a surprise that you get older every day.

To increase the amount of fiat currency, you just have to print a lot of it. To do that with gold is much harder. Gold is expensive to produce. If by "shore up devaluation" you think that governments will destroy fiat currency, I think that

It has already been above $1000 before. In the beginning at the month it was at around $900. Now it's at $975, so it's very close to $1000. How do you know gold is at its peak? With fiat money there is a risk for a high rate of inflation. T
