Unfortunately most of the arguments against wearing masks are petty and bullshit given that the inconvenience of wearing one is insignificant for most people. Sure, if you have genuine health concerns wearing one then don’t. But most of the

That doesn’t stop many western CEOs from being corrupt. From what I’ve experienced, the lack of corruption in Singapore is partly cultural and partly due to their heavy penalties for crime.

The two key take always here are: * lots of clients (their needs might differ considerably from each other. So it’s not unreasonable to assume an FTE per client or two) * is there a dedicated design, et al team or are you, the developer, ex

A RCE in Windows software running on WINE wouldn’t have much benefit on Linux unless the attacker specifically knew said software was running in WINE. 1. WINE et al run in a sandboxed environment. You cannot execute other Linux software wit

I’m aware of Rusts support for Unicode, I was only using that as an example because it’s easy to visualise since most people who’ve written any kind of text parsing will understand the additional computational overhead correctly supporting

That’s only correct if you focus exclusively on optional features enabled by feature flags or environmental variables. Some features might be around support for things like Unicode where a tool could work 90% of the time but that extra 10%

They do say no though. Frequently too. The problem with Unicode is simply that it’s trying to solve a very hard problem.

That’s oxymoronic. It clearly looked good when it was state of the art, it is only when compared to more modern technologies that CRTs look bad. But even by modern standards, CRTs are widely considered better looking for games. Not just ret

I know how much memory the Pis support, I’ve owned every RPi since the very first one. Model As are lower specs than their B counterparts (eg the 3 B+ has 1GB of RAM) but that’s all moot because you and your siblings are still missing one i

It is basically just a normal computer and I feel you’re optimising the wrong thing here too given we’ve already established the OP was wrong when they threw around what they believed to be the applications file sizes.

If that’s an issue just cache the file in RAM. 500MB is still less than the system memory on a Pi (and as I’ve pointed elsewhere, the OP was reading the partition table not the application file sizes).

The only place on the readme where I could find those figures you came up with was the partition table and obviously a partition of 500MB doesn’t mean the applications are going to be 500MB in size. In fact it’s quite the opposite; it prett

Your example here is a little on the absurd side don’t you think? While the lack of generics in a language can be annoying for some people it’s not a showstopper for most use cases. Whereas removing conditionals would make it a non-starter

I understand the point you’re trying to make but writing music is a creative process whereas marketing programming languages isn’t. I was around at the time and C++ was trendy so Sun were marketing it as the future for C++ developers. It wa

Maybe because Java is more of a direct descendant of C++ than pure C (though obviously C++ is an iteration of C). Or maybe they omitted it before there are literally hundreds of languages that were inspired from C and listing them all would
