This seems like it would apply to literally any new feature - new code won't compile on an old compiler. It isn't the purpose of semver though, semver is trying to help you upgrade old code safely.

Apologies if this is obvious and I'm honestly not trying to be flippant but can you pay taxes with Nano? What incentive do I have as a business owner to accept a volatile currency that may get all my revenue hacked without recourse?

Many things we are traditionally thankful fit the same criteria. I'm thankful for my business partner who I may never have met under different circumstances. Just because something could not have been, doesn't mean you can't

It's a combination of "do you understand that weather in the Midwest has huge swings" combined with a line from Kanye West's song "Jesus Walks".

I know I'm nitpicking a bit here but it's more accurate to say that it's static HTML, JS, and CSS hosting. If you want to host images you have to solve that yourself. This part is pretty confusing to me given that both Vercel

Another flip side effect. My dad is a CFO at a car dealership and tells me that the banks are having problems due to the lack of cars as well. A dealership will normally float all their inventory on a big bank note but they basically have n

Was this MBP era or iBook/PowerBook era? I seem to recall this being the case on the old Titanium Powerbooks in the early 00s. Remember the glowing light near the laptop latch that would slowly swell to tell you that your laptop was as

I am surprised this needs to be said but the medical intern analogy is terrible and emblematic of why this style of interview is terrible. Medical interns will likely be doing things like installing an IV on a daily basis. It is a great wor

Leaving aside whether or not this is true, why would you apply DNS changes to all of your properties at once? Especially if it's a sensitive change? Seems much more likely to me that WA/IG/Oculus somehow rely on facebook.com

I wonder how this will dovetail with something like GitHub copilot. Obviously there will have to be a line somewhere. AI wrote 10% of the code in this system => patent allowed. AI wrote 90% => no patent. But where is the line?

Interesting analogy but I don't think it holds up. Both of these are stereotypical examples of failure of willpower. Climate change does not require personal willpower when we have laws available to create carrots and sticks.

Because people lie and when they say "we don't store" they really actually do. It's the difference between checking a single ID photo at a time and having a database full of photos every time you submit to it. A lot of d

git merge --squash on the command line will do this. It automatically dumps all your beloved handcrafted commit messages into a single squashed commit.

It's missing the forest for the trees. The original complaint was about a pattern of abuse whereas this post addresses a single instance of abuse. If someone hits you 100 times and issues you an apology for 1 of the times because someb
