Didn‘t use it for quite some time now. I actually switched to nix packages for a while and was happy. Even worked in tandem with brew but I had a glibc issue on my shared Linux setup I could not resolve. I‘m still on nixos on Linux and test

macports had the cleaner packages. Macports created its own base library so that packages are not based on the macOS system libraries which managed to break them when doing system updates with brew or when you decided to stay longer on an o

I was a macports user but had to switch to homebrew because most new projects went there and it was generally easier to write Formulars etc. But I never really liked the project. I think writing a new package manager on top of brew infrastr

I‘m contemplating for a while to find a replacement for VSCode. I switched to it because Atom became too slow and it had great builtin support for most stuff. But I actually was never 100% happy. I usually split my work between bigger proje

Could be. My obj-c days are long over though. The time I worked with was between 2009 and 2015.

I think it was specifically in .m files. Obj-c is using ANSI-C (c89) which lacks certain features and keywords. Mixing with c99 files is of course possible. Maybe that was also an issue in older versions of clang.

Yes. You‘re correct. When I wrote written I meant put together. Because the process was more to put a compilation together. I‘m not Christian and also atheist so please forgive any wording that my sound like a debunk the whole process. For

It‘s a superset of ANSI-C. One needs to be carful to mention this. I‘m not aware that this had changed and also added some small grieve back in the days for me. But I sadly can‘t remember anymore what didn‘t work for me.

Well the Bible was written some 300 years after all of this happened. Jesus didn’t own a birth certificate nor was it ever officially written down. As to who decides when what happened and wrote it down I don‘t know. We have historical figu

Let’s talk about Christmas then. They deliberately put it at a time where many northern folks had their own traditional end of the year / longest night (opposite to midd summer) festivals. In Germany we have Nikolaus on the 6.12 (goes

Don‘t know if this is the same but I went to Death Valley on the Devil‘s Golf Course during summer. There was no wind no nothing. It was so damn silent. Wonder how that compares to an anechoic chamber now.

Guess you misunderstood me. I know that UTM is built on top of qemu. I use it as well. I mean when already using this init image tooling etc why clicking through the UI to setup a VM. One would think to offload this also to a script. Becaus

My thought was why use UTM? Most of this can be achieved with qemu alone :). But it showed me something new. The cloud init tool was new to me. From my toolbox I would have used ansible or something. But I think it very interesting that thi

I want to chime in. I drive Skoda Enyaq (VW Family EV, think ID.4) and have all these gimmicks. I ruled out a Model 3 because at that time it didn’t come with some of these features like notarized trunk etc. I have my car on a schedule and

You may underestimate how many drivers had to be shipped and developed by external companies compared to today. For software / hardware companies that was a huge deal.

It goes a bit into the same direction rust went by shipping the unit tests usually inside the module. The thought is intriguing to keep the „mock“ setup up to date even when doing refactors. But I wonder if this solves the issue. I tend to

The problem with grep for me is that it's not really interactive. fzf allows me to fuzzy search and adjust the search term and seeing a list with results I then can select from.
