Yes in 2014 they made the move. The first iPad is from 2010. So we have 4 years worth of old arm compiled apps. I don‘t understand the intel part though.

Maybe you mean apportable? They used a lot of stuff from GnuStep and implemented a lot of UIKit with JNI Bindings to the android UI toolkit. I spend 2.5 years maintaining a game written with it. My company had a license only for this game.

Same for me. I switched from SVN to git professionally in 2013 and used git via Sourcetree on personal smaller projects. I had to switch to the CLI git because so used SVN also on CLI only and could not transfer the documentation to the but

Also count me in. I switched 4 or 5 years ago and never had much issues finding answers to my programming questions.

Yes I wanted to comment the same. And Germany is, as far as I know no longer looking into this anymore. Edit: I mean for the usage in Germany. It’s sadly a very political topic because lots of money went into this project.

I'm from germany. Here Apple was never a huge player. I learned very late of its existence. My school was a so called OSZ (Oberstufen Zentrum) which is something like school a where you can gain work related diplomas. I'm really b

Yes I remember the shift around that time. I had my first contact with a Mac at school in ca 2001. OSX was just released and the school received a new order of iMac G3’s as lab computers. What can I say. I hated the machines. Everything was

I don’t quite understand what you mean. As I wrote I write my PR message as the commit message. That is one thing that is also very important for me. Write in the commit message why something changed. If the PR gets so damn big that it is s

GitHub is pretty smart nowadays. If you propose a series of PR on top of each other, GitHub will change the base when it the base of the second PR got merged and so on. There is sometimes the need to rebase but I have generally no problem w

There is another angle I forgot to mention. That is that I also want that each commit can be compiled (depends on the project obviously) and is tested and won’t fail tests. That is super hard to achieve when only testing the last commit of

Yes it has it up and downs. But it also helps me and my team to enforce smaller patches since they land as one anyways. And other teams in my company follow the open PR and develop the next 2 weeks on it and merge in full. There is so much

I’m one of the people who strongly advocates the squash merge. My PRs are also single commits most of the times with the PR body as the commit message. That is a hidden gem of GitHub, if you open a PR with a single commit then GitHub will u

Isn’t that what GitHub does when the rebase strategy. Because when the rebase can’t be made cleanly GitHub still asks for conflict resolution.

Yeah sadly the Nvidia Shield is in the same ballpark when it comes down to the price. I have both an Apple TV 4K and an Nvidia Shield. I bought the shield when Apple had no 4K device as an alternative to get 4K HDR on Netflix. But I decided
