I only checked the post so far and my understanding was that it uses nix. It is ironic that a tool who sets out to solve the issue of installing external dependencies, needs a preinstalled nix setup. My understanding was that it uses nix un

I have a strange feeling when thinking about the solution especially on macOS. The nix installation needs its store located at /nix which got harder to initialize since macOS Catalina or Mojave added the root protection. In general thi

The big reason why in this case the city of Berlin never added gates is a architectural reason. At least that’s what they claimed. Most U-Bahn stations don’t have a mid platform layer. They run directly under the road. You can’t create a un

The sad part is that CMYK color space is really important (and that is just one little part) to be able for a tool to be used in the professional print world. There are printing houses mainly for consumers who really don’t care what you thr

I’m typing German on a US keyboard layout and I’m very used to the alt +u-u chord etc to write the Inlauts. I still don’t have a setup on Linux though because I’m used to type this sequence with the left Alt key not the right.

I’m also from Germany so I feel I can answer. 1) No not yet anyways. The inflation is only really visible in gas/energy prices and groceries. I know that some EV car manufacturers had to increase prices but that has a different reason

In the Java world gradle can do this with the help of a shared build cache server. There is also Gradle Enterprise but I never looked deeper into it.

I started using Firefox in the 0. versions mainly because someone wrote an extension to have tabs with websites in one window. That was it for me and I use Firefox ever since. I managed to survive the memory bloat phase. I was super happy w

As a German I weep and cry. 25Gbit/s seems so so far off. And I live in a major city. I only get 150Mbit VDSL at the moment. I have no cable connection so one of these to get the theoretical 1Gbit/s download is out of the question
