I couldn't find the Jellyfish incident, I'm curious how that one went down.

Can't they just have other independent labs run the sample too? If they don't have any sample left, well... tough for the prosecution.

I don't think so. I regularly response to Amazon recruiters with "your reputation for treatment of your developers is poor, and therefore I'm not interested." It helps provide a data point to drive change, something that

Ad blocking is really a war between regular users and criminals, with ad networks as the battlefield (and sometimes the criminals themselves) and content producers/publishers as the civilians caught in the crossfire. It's not the

I feel like this article assumes a ton of context. I guess Colorado has a tax free day today? I had to infer that from article, since it doesn't explain it, just references some "accounting error". Which might be the predicti

Why do people think of lightsabers first? I think better control over light leads to true holograms, primarily. Frankly, if holograms and lightsabers both magically appeared tomorrow, I would lean towards holograms being more important.

As a mercurial user, how easy IS it to accidentally force-push in Git? You have to really go out of your way to do it in mercurial, and I haven't found any reasons to do so.

Ironically, a similar policy was put into effect in a nearby city to me (Waterbury, CT), and it wasn't a power grab so much as a "we're paying them anyway" thing. (They became mandatory first responders, but EMTs were st

I really don't see the similarity here. Threatening to leave a locale is completely different from asking for a specific amount of money up front.

Functional consistency is easier on your visitors, while visual differentiation (the actual pictures you select, mostly) helps identification of your site. I wouldn't call it "conformity" at all.

The article paints Angry Birds 2 as a paid app losing out to freemium apps, but when I downloaded it, it was a free app with way too many freemium parts. I deleted it shortly after, as I'm not interested in freemium mobile apps.

$30/month? It's not that cheap around here! I think the bigger crash is that people prefer to watch a full season of a TV show in one sitting, rather than once a week for 9 months or whatever. How do you make television when the a

The only thing I miss when using my kindle is going to the used bookstores and hunting for treasures (generally obscure sci-fi for $1 per paperback). But my kindle 4 lets me stay in sync with my phone (which I can use in the dark and outsid

"How did Microsoft get the original xbox into a state of relevance?" By dumping an insane amount of money into it, and waiting until the 360 to actually make any profit whatsoever. Not easy to replicate.
