I believe very very few of the shows the parent post is talking about are sitcoms.

"A photo illustration shows the Uber app logo displayed on a mobile telephone, as it is held up for a posed photograph in central London" - that's some caption!

I would say the best benefit of using Linux over Windows for a casual user is to avoid viruses and ransomware and the like.

How does this deal with the products that are basically just vitamins, but marketed as "homeopathic" as an umbrella term?

Isn't doing 55 on gravel going to destroy your paint? Traction Control, on paved roads, is extremely beneficial, and one of the best safety innovations since seatbelts.

That's a pretty outdated viewpoint. Linux has been my professional platform for 6 years, and I find it to be vastly superior to Windows or Mac. The short time I had to use OS X for iOS development was very painful.

There were a few parts here that I had trouble getting my head around. 1) The author doesn't actually have an Upwork account at all, right? I can see why Upwork would be slow in talking to her in that case, since she's not even a

I wouldn't say that, no. Especially since supporting "doing well in school" may not be the same as supporting "getting a proper education". After all, the first may be more about pushing conformity and obedience tha

I can't truly speak for the whole country, but Connecticut schools seem to be a class above most anywhere else. Every time I've considered moving somewhere cheaper, the school system research is completely depressing. I know paren

I don't believe this is true. Look at a state like Connecticut, which features very affluent areas and very poor areas within. If you like at the top performing schools, sure the best ones tend to be in affluent areas, and the worst on

Netflix's real value is in binge-watching TV shows. I wouldn't be surprised if movies just don't get the viewers to justify their cost. As a non-stop Netflix subscriber since 2004, I've only streamed 1 or 2 movies in tha

I also think that humor doesn't age well, it's largely generational. The Simpsons is better than most humor, because their jokes are generally stronger. They rarely go for the obvious joke (throw away the first 2-3 jokes you come

I feel like 4% is way too low from what I've seen, but often the reason employees see big jumps is because the employer covers some flat amount, and then the un-covered part is what looks to be jumping. So if your employer covers 750&#

Because the CPU "thinks" in 32-bits, therefore anything not 32-bits needs to be processed first. You would need to first convert your memory address to 32-bits before the CPU could read it, which brings something that would normal

It's just an artifact of 32-bit addressing. Addresses are just an integer from 0 to (2^31 - 1). Using a smaller address space may be possible (although it is still very limited), but dealing with anything other than exactly 32 bits is
