I think powershell is considered a scripting language. Even though the version that is included with windows is outdated you can still do quite a bit with it. And if you can use WSL you basically have all the linux cli stuff available to yo

I have heard great things about PopOS but haven't tried it personally. Hopefully you find the right distro for you.

Have you considered Fedora? I recently moved from Arch to Fedora and I have all the same up to date vanilla packages without having to do any real work.

Also I think snap is an Ubuntu thing vs flatpak and appimage which are more distro agnostic. That's my issue with it/Ubuntu. They are doing good things, but at the same time I don't feel they are as "open" as other

Out of curiosity, is there any consensus on what parts of the world might be underwater or a desert once this plays out? I'm not a climate scientist, but I'm curious after these comments if there is some way to know what changes w

My children's school district uses meet and google classroom. I think it's pretty common in schools in the US.

I agree being able to change the temperature settings from a phone would be convenient, but they've had "smartish" thermostats capable of relatively complex temperature schedules for at least 20 years. No need for an internet

I'm using openWRT on a Zyxel Armor Z2 router. Today they are $170 on Amazon. The flashing process was exactly the same as the factory firmware. After that I had to configure it just as I would any new router. It's better than the

I feel like something similar happened with me middle of last year. I was studying for an Azure certification and deployed a few ubuntu servers. Around that time I received an email from someone named Aldo with 'Business Development&#

This looks very interesting! Headphone jack and everything! I have an Pixel2 and was thinking I'd get an iPhone next, but I'm really turned off by Apple's behaviour lately. I also don't want to send more money to Google.

I started to reply earlier in the thread and then decided not to, but basically what I wanted to say was this. I have used Linux as a daily driver desktop for years, but I don't just buy random hardware and expect it to work. I do some

I think people have felt the same about having children throughout most of history. Do you want a child born into slavery? Do you want a child subject to a totalitarian government? Do you want a child born into extreme poverty or famine? I

Is this true? As I explained in another post, I used to work at a small ISP many years ago. We did not monitor anything, but we did get emails from MPAA people (my memory is a little fuzzy) about an IP downloading a something. We would the
