Ironically one of the reasons markdown (and other text based file formats) were popular because you could use regular find/grep to analyze it, and version control to manage it.

For me, the functionally useful bit of these ideas are that pushing pushing pushing your mind on one problem is not an effective use of resources. Alternating pushing with not pushing often finds good solutions faster.

Well all good stats are made up. My point was more that its doesn't take a large chunk of a population to mistreat others to make mistreatment almost inescapable. For child sexual abuse, which is studied more than "anti-nerd bully

I want to hire people who can be given some problem and will go off and work on it and come to me with questions when specs are unclear or there's some weird thing that cropped up. AI is 100% not that. You have to watch it like a 15 y

I mostly read HN news for the laughs, although the odd technical insights posted by those that know is fun too. I don't know why I post, somethings just to dissipate negative emotions, sometimes to share a favorite anecdote. Sometimes

I have inherited projects where I just could never understand what they were thinking well enough to make the service good (not running out of memory and crashing). It was very humbling; I still sometimes wake up in the middle of the night

Well I am studying mathematics, and I use the LLM to help me learn. They aren't terrible, and they have all of arXiv to train on. Terrence Tao is doing some cool stuff with it - the idea will be an LLM to generate Lean proofs. https:
