The article begins with 'A former Goldman Sachs Group programer...'. Amazing insight sure to follow.

Perfect, good to know. I've only looked into SecondMarket and incorrectly assumed all secondary markets enforced the SEC regs up front.

Does anyone know if there's a way to monitor share prices on sites like SharesPost and SecondMarket without dealing with finding a Purchaser Representative up front?

I don't know how Opera is on other mobile platforms, but on Android the UI is absolutely rotten.

As far as getnumberoffiles vs. getNumberOfFiles, unfortunately, it doesn't really matter, at least for the near future, because methods and functions (and classes) are case-insensitive anyway :(

No offense, but there are some comments posted here that may take a second or two of interpretation to understand, perhaps making them that much more witty?

I was thinking more about the overhead of building arrays of small strings. Depending on how you measure memory usage, Python is 3-4x more efficient at building lists of one-byte strings than PHP is wrt memory usage.

> The PHP interpreter is also quite memory hungry, as interpreters go. Any PHP value in your program uses 68 bytes of overhead [6]. An array of a million values takes over 68 MB. Well, that is obscene.

I have also been thinking about this. Makes me want to null-route any traffic headed for China/Russia. However, I'm much more paranoid about the ripoff Cisco equipment made by Huawei.

I'm not sure, there are jobs (at least in SV) that while not at that pay level, are probably between your current pay and $200k, that would allow you to be around very bright potential co-founders, and do not involve a non-zero risk of bein

I have a CLI application that's IO-bound. I'm extremely excited. Furthermore, I'm sure this is exciting to anyone who has deployed Memcache, and now has an application that is CPU-bound.

Exactly. Have a look through the IRC logs from when the core devs were discussing namespace separators, and let's see if the author of this quote still feels the same way.

No, it's not an operating system, but for someone who only has access to a computer via their public library and wants to learn *nix/vim/emacs/etc., something like this could be a perfect first step.

Have you ever tried to write code on a TN panel? I ordered a Dell 22" UltraSharp with a TN, and sent it back the next day for the 24" that has the VA panel (and is 2.5x the price).
