AT&T cannot reduce performance to some classes of sites, and charge other sites more to have their traffic put on the fast-lane. Because if AT&T were to do so, then anyone whose connection gets passed to AT&T at any point in the

I tend not to code in my free time, because whenever I feel like coding, I apply that effort to a project designed to make me money, so that time becomes work time.

I installed tmux, but have not yet played with it. I know I want to, simply because it supports vertical splits…

I'm not entirely sure that the craft of programming has a great deal to do with the core of computer science. A programmer develops software for the hardware of today, so good programmers had better be well acquainted with von Neumann’s arc

For OS X you can use Color Oracle ( http://colororacle.cartography.ch/ ) or Sim Daltonism ( http://michelf.com/projects/sim-daltonism/ ) to see your designs as a person with various types of color blindness would. I would hope that such sof

I thought QS had a calculator plugin. At least I think I remember using a QS-based caluclator… in any case, I definitely have to agree that LaunchBar is a superior product at this time.

Which is why I have that one really strong password guarding my keychain, which holds randomly-generated passwords for sites.

Or, if sub-atomic particles can behave truly randomly, then perhaps they might have free will, deciding what to do for themselves, which we can only see as randomness (I do not think this is true, it’s just an interesting thought). Sadly,

Yeah. I only ever use GMail through IMAP, and then didn’t find this until after it was back up. Never had a clue.

Indeed. And it the scroll-ball were larger, I’d probably like it. Just do that, and make the 2 buttons physically distinct, then it would be a halfway decent mouse.

Worth noting that not every B&N has an “upstairs”. Indeed, most of the B&Ns I’ve been to have been 1 story, though the ones in large, wealthy, shopping areas have been 2.

Iirc, it isn’t even assignment, it’s a monad extraction. e.g. a <- [2] … gives a the value of 2, unwrapping the List monad (only works if the return value of the function is a List of some kind). The above could also be written: [2]
