I'm an active core-contributor to WordPress, and I maintain a core component (Privacy) currently. Even within the core-contributor community, there is a lot of friction, particularly with the "less popular" components. Access

Those are amusing examples, as taxi drivers are traditionally tipped, though not as much anymore. For taxi drivers and hair stylists, it's a bit of a different scale. Taxis/Ubers, I usually just add a couple bucks to the fare, or

I tend to tip more than average, though I usually consider small counter transactions (like a $3 coffee) to be worth a 15% tip max. I don't like when the kiosks are configured to either not have 15% as an option, or make it look like t

Due to how US wage laws work for "service" employees, you _are_ somewhat of an "employer" while they're servicing you. You pay them a tip for their service. If you don't want to tip, you don't get served a

Coffee shops are a unique one, though traditionally you tip the barista in particular, not the cashier. It's been somewhat on its way out culturally over the past few decades in the US however.

The reason for the e-cig ban in checked baggage is due to the chance of combustion, as if it exploded in your carry-on, it can be extinguished. It's similar to the Samsung Note ban not too long ago, even though no Samsung Notes ever ex

I feel the same way about Pocket, and I didn't like the idea of Screenshots being merged into core (was a test-pilot extension for quite some time before). I have found though that Screenshots built-in is really nice for less technical

For automated texts, legally, there have to be ways of unsubscribing. Try replying to them with "STOP," as even if the spammer doesn't configure it, usually the upstream SMS provider has it built-in to remove you from getting

One of the big airlines I hear a lot of hatred for regarding missing hidden fees is the ULCCs such as Frontier, Spirit, and Allegiant. Bags, snacks, seats with your party, etc. are not included at all in the base fare. The cost you see on t

Yes, and all planes currently meet the 90-second requirement. It's a reason why they have weird take-off rules, such as windows open (to make sure your eyes will be adjusted if the doors opened and let the sun in/got much darker),

In the journalism world, pre-written articles are apparently quite common. I assume they had a boilerplate already for the next Facebook controversy, and just wrote 2-3 opening paragraphs that were relevant for this one. CNN many years ago

I don't necessarily agree with your point. However, your mention of EPCOT is quite interesting... I never really thought about it this way before, but Musk in a lot of ways is like late-life Walt Disney. Disney started having some _ver
