I'm pretty over maintaining Linux on my laptop, Windows 10 in general, and most hardware coming from the "PC" side of the market. I'm also looking to get into iOS development. What do I buy? I'm thinking the cheapes

A little OT but what is it called when a rail system is setup purely to ferry people to and from the heart of the city? Philadelphia is the same way. New York on the other hand is more of a spaghetti mess. I wonder if that interconnection d

I wouldn't bother clicking on this link if I knew it was the state. So no, I'm not tired of everyone playing editor because it benefits me in the end. I also don't agree that such threads drown the conversation. Often they&#x

Depends on where you're walking and who you are with, and of course dose but that can be hard to control. In the right setting, it can be a great idea. I would argue that such an effect is seen more at high doses and rarely at that. If

I wonder about this with news sites that are increasingly going paywalled. Do they also turn the tracking or even ads entirely off, or do we just pay money to be tracked now?

How is moo related to political correctness? Doesn't it just ask if you've mooed today? That's an innocent joke that you never need to stumble upon. Joking about social/religious/political topics in deep technical d

Is there research on how effective the Google/FB model is compared to content based? I wonder if fine grained tracking is even all that more powerful. Regardless, there must be diminishing returns and I wouldn't be surprised if we

Ha ok that's true. Ad breaks are long, superimposed ads exist, and sponsored content is a thing. Maybe "less intrusive" or even "predictable" is better language. I'm thinking of moments where you're scroll

I get that it's a race to the bottom, but lets redefine the bottom I guess. I'm afraid that as publishers react to the public being anti ads, we'll all forget the reasons ads became such an issue. We'll get more paywalls

Why can't we have content based ads that are non-intrusive like television and old print media? Yeah they still interject in the middle of content, but not with the same level of deceit as what some ads and sponsored links do on web me

Is content based advertising such an ineffective thing that we _need_ individually targeted advertising powered by trackers? Anyone that does a search for shoes on Google gets ads for shoe retailers. Anyone going to Gizmodo gets the same ad

This is update is incredible, it looks like a massive jump into modern relevancy. Excited to try it this weekend. One thing I might have to raise in the GIMP community is what's the deal with sliders on brush-like tools? Very cumbersom

I haven't used Photoshop in a long time, like 10 years and I'm sure that version was out-of-date already being a public school computer. I had used GIMP before using Photoshop. Given that context, I remember Photoshop to be signif

It sounded like no one even proofread and edited their questions or lines of reasoning. There should be a panel of non-partisan people, not even experts, taking the dumb out of their questions before they engage. It was a waste of time. Eve
