If you are going to build a team you will probably select for people you know and trust first, so choosing from people in your network is a natural way of doing this. This is literally called 'networking'. If it isn't a start

I agree with your main point, you have to do quite a few things to configure these plugins and some of it is not straightforward. However, I program rust using the lunarvim default configuration for vim and it has been very straightforward.

Most often you don't have to go through so many. The community usually has some preferred selection of tools and you have to choose from 2-5 different options. You still need to do some research but it is not as bad as you present it.

Absolutely agree. LunarVim is my NeoVim configuration of choice and 90% of my usual workflow is present and with the missing rest I can still manage to be productive enough. I don't see not having LSP as a positive aspect to mention by

I use ai mostly for creating code examples for specific things I haven't written before and for learning new programming languages. During day to day I haven't used copilot or tabnine yet but I have seen that there exists some plu

Why would someone want to pay to get rid of their stocks? In the worst case they would be worthless or not?

https://laeri.me/blog I am practicing writing and blogging so most of my posts at the moment are mostly for that purpose. I still have a lot to learn and my blog will hopefully reflect my improvement over time.

I hear people about it talking everywhere. Students that use it to write some work or learn for exams. Colleagues that use it for generating code examples for specific things. Someone from HR writing text. This is definitely not an echo cha

The problem is that there are different kinds of ORMS. One where the model is created and either the tables are generated from the model or some mapping exists. The other kind takes the database as a source of truth and from sql queries gen

There seem to be two kinds of ORM's. One is based on the domain models and will either generate tables and columns or has some kind of mapping from domain model -> database. The second type does the inverse approach and generates do

The problem with advice is that it comes from someone in a different position. The depressed person might not be able to actually perform the suggestion due to lack of energy or other factors.

The brain tries to minimize energy expenditure due to evolutionary factors and only wants to expend energy if absolutely necessary. Therefore you need to trick your brain into doing the right thing.

You are right that this is specialization but it still is a career killer in the case that you specialize on a completely obscure technology which will not help in your future career.

I don't think both serve the same use cases. Or can you use obsidian or does a plugin exist to annotate and read pdfs?

The main culprits are programs that were written before the standard existed in addition to many people that just don't know about it. Who should enforce this standard? I would say community pressure does it pretty well at the moment.

There are standards. The article even mentions the xdg base dir standard. The problem is that not everyone follows them but a large number still do and then it is easy to find them. I still agree that app containers are still a good idea.

It sure helps that the code is open source. However, there are some factors that still make it harder for other people to pick up a project - a lot of knowledge can be lost how the system works and has to be reverse engineered - which fork

I agree with this comment. However, having mostly just a single person as the creator and maintainer means it has a truck factor of one. A small team would inspire more confidence in the longevity of the project.

I am not sure why this strange fixation on tabs as an important ui element exists. In most cases such as within a browser tabs are horrible to navigate. In my opinion they only make sense if you have a fixed number of diffferent "subme

A serious alternative is neovim together with lsp plugins. You can set up a preconfigured neovim such as lunarvim and after learning a few shortcuts you are 90% the way what Clion offers. It isn't totally easy to get into it but at lea

Not to disagree with you but if there are people with insider knowledge they will either dump a massive amount of stock or buy it up changing the stock price. So the insider knowledge should be priced in quite fast thanks to their greed.
