This confused me as well, but I think he means that the bad news will be buried in all the media hype/time being devoted to iPhone.

You know, me and my friends were talking just the other day about how massive myTunes was in college, pretty much everyone was using it. What a sad loss of a fantastic talent.

I think I can say pretty confidently and without providing any data that most people use Facebook to connect with people they know from real life. I believe that adding a complete stranger is seen as a bit creepy. Maybe the new Groups featu

You should also do it this way with nginx if you want websockets to work. This is because nginx proxy doesn't currently support http 1.1 or keep-alive.

I've always liked these - the hq3x algorithm is stunning (scroll down on the linked page to see a good result).

Maybe someone with more knowledge of this can help me; does this mean that one simply has to use https with EC2 and store everything on AWS to be fully PCI compliant? If so, AWS just became even more attractive.

I have to disagree with point 3. At least in the UK, almost everyone uses wireless rather than wire connections in the home 73% of the UK population have home internet access, and 60% of the UK population use the internet every day. I think

No they're not. You need a credit card from a US bank. Amazon FPS has some really good aggregate payment features that I can't find anywhere else, so I'm starting a US company primarily to get round this.

Very nice. Maybe you could you apply a different stylesheet to the comments, and hide any elements which allow you to click through to stories. Just removing everything above the comment box would be fine.

I had some fun rating things on Swayable. The total variety of different stuff makes it quite compelling. Actually I think just the rating part alone would make quite a fun iPhone app (i.e. make that the focus of the app, as only ~5% of use

I agree, it looks like total 'programmer art'. The flat grey at the top. The logo. The badly resized bullet points with jagged artefacts. No sign of the original salesforce logo. All the fonts are a little too big, but not in a pretty way.

Like many others, I didn't hit the launch date for my app: seating plan software for dinner events and weddings ( http://www.tabletwist.com ). I did make huge amount of progress though, and I'm hoping to launch before 2011!
