But to the best of my knowledge, he doesn't engineer the insides of the products. He doesn't work out how the scroll wheel will actually make song skip, or pause, or play. He works out how it will look, how we will interact with it, how it

Technical encloses design? I always thought it was just the programming. By design, I mean product and user interface design.

When saying designer, I mean a really strong product design, but also someone that can make things look nice. Someone that's highly skilled, not just someone who can navigate photoshop.

Apalon.com are great. They've done a bit of work for me, and their prices are fair, and they're decent to work with.

This is what I'm trying to work on. How did you train your search engine? What sort of collaborative filtering techniques? How would that work? I'm intrigued! Would love to chat further via email.

I guess, since I didn't see it (and I'm sure a few others won't), maybe you should think about making it a tiny bit more prominent?

I think having the dates on the homepage would work, including the time of day, and run time.

I really love the site. It's a great concept. The next step is providing a service charge (25%~?) to build the computers and ship them to people. I'd also make it much more ajaxy, it's currently too slow! Also, if it's possible, a picture

Here's my process. I define in my mind what I want, in terms of style and needs, find similar sites, or sites with styles I'm after. I then find the designer of the site, and contact them. Here are my other strategies for finding designers:

1. I tweeted about it. 2. I got everyone I knew that would tweet about it, to tweet about it. 3. I got on CSSMania, which converted at about 40% 4. I got on and am getting on a few more CSS Galleries (and designers are my target market!) 5.

I don't think it put the above commenter off, as he signed up. Is it the top choice that put you off, or was it that you weren't actually interested in what it is we have to offer?
