I looked at nix a while ago, concluded the versioning/chesumming is - a given sum should represent kind-of the same thing, but can mean really anything. There was even a post on how to have a stable version for a tracking branch. Now,

Without further details, I remain unconvinced of true hardware security. By hardware I would presume they mean a system/keyboard controller - one that can monitor events, delay and toggle privacy mode. A controller that likely has up

EU has SEPA payments, where you can just send money to an account, usually for no or negligible fee. Weird how a similar arrangement is not available in so many countries.

I was pretty sure SRAM uses less power than DRAM. Some research shows it is true for 6T cells, but questionable on smaller 4T cells, depending on implementation. So, if you can use ~6x the area of eDRAM, you can have almost no power draw SR

In theory, a DMCA notice requires a statement of Netflix good-faith belief, that the content is infringing, under the penalty of perjury, and should be triable - though good luck going after a G$ company.

That's a convincing privacy argument for NAT. I thought temporary addresses were supposed to (mostly) solve this and would be my preferred way. Though the default 24h lifetime is not quite as helpful, except for hopefully sidestepping

Yes but a tool is not illegal just because it can sometimes be used illegally. If some are OK with it and some are not, then it suggests it has legitimate purpose (though you need to go a lot deeper). Note, I'm not arguing copying sm

If you xor the hashes together, it may be as weak as the weaker of the two functions, though it probably depends on their structure. Getting much stronger hashing with double compute time is easy. Double the number of round - most alorithms
