The ads are in the android app if you select a "smart" tab, like the Social or Campaigns (and I pay for google one, still get those ads). Fortunately I'm never in those tabs on the mobile client.

I would like to take the time to discuss how humanity can make a drone swarm that can fly through a dense bamboo-forest with 30 cm spacing of the trees but fail to make a video player that have any type of time controls in 2022...

Annoying techcrunch links, they go directly to guce.advertising.com to turn around, but the turn doesn't work with things like uMatrix so you just get stuck.. :/

I tried the same in the normal GPT-3, randomness 1.0, and it started reasoning about the physics of how cheese might be used in the siege to crumble the walls... Also be sure to read the reference about the cheese and the friars :) [In medi

Magnus Carlsen famously went into a Lichess Bullet Shield online tournament very late, and clicked 100% on "berserk" mode which means his 1 minute time was cut in half to 30 seconds, and still managed to win 88% of the games and c

You need to loop back the generated output to provide context for the next output, just like how GPT-3 works. This at least establishes the needed data to train for consistent outputs. Given a deep well-trained network, the high-level meta-

It's the other way around, the Higgs field is the field introduced to break the EW symmetry. It can do this because it is particular in that it has a non-zero vacuum potential, that in essence picks out a "direction" in EW-sp

They don't just track "a single visit", they bind your surfing of this particular site to your global shadow-profile at FB or Google and then sell this data about you to companies purchasing ads (or worse). This kind of data

Would you want this because its open or because it is free? I've always found SW amazing and intuitive with great help and assist, and sure it's expensive for a hobbyist but for a company it's not a big deal.

Some operators do this by the SIM, Sierra Wireless as a virtual operator for example has a smart SIM that doles out IMSIs to the modem to use depending on the roaming and signal parameters. This way they can provide global access without op

I think so, this has been discussed in many HN threads and it always surprises a lot of people how big of a hole this is. I was certainly not aware of it the first time I read about it. Docker inserts its own iptables rules before your drop

While seemingly intuitive, the idea of a QFT field as a probability field over space is not correct. It usually comes as a shock to anybody entering QFT when they finally realize the actual "probability space" is infinitely larger

By that logic you can't observe anything or explain anything, though. All the force carrying bosons (like the photon) have to interact with fermions (the electrons and quarks that make up your equipment and your body). Some of the inte

Yes reverse vesting (which is common) means that you start by owning your, say, 33% share from the start and each month you stay your quitting penalty reduces by 1%. So if you quit 1 month in you need to sell back 32% at basically no cost.

Firstly the number of parameters is important in itself due to the finite size of VRAM on the GPU cards commonly available. But secondly the bulk of the ops you do are scalar products (arranged as matrix muls) where one parameter means one
