That sounds a lot like “Yes the planet got destroyed. But for a beautiful moment in time we created a lot of value for shareholders.”

Do we even have a guess where it is right now? The orbit is huge, so the search area is ginormous, even if we would know approximately where in its orbit it would currently be.

I'm fearing that degradable plastics is also a lie.. is it just turning it into microplastics small enough that the problem visually disappears?

Send + Sync is maybe not enough but wouldn't it be possible to say: as long as the memory location is read-only you can parallelize access to it. Send + Sync helps pass the read-only data through without synchronization to all threads,

That's a surprise to me. That must be one epic mass of header files. It reminds me of the massive Fast kernel headers patchset by Ingo Molnar. I hope it got in. I don't know anything about it, just marvelled at the scope of it.

It seems like he's not even sharing the code, which is unfortunate if Alacritty or others want to learn from this. I guess that's a personal choice, but is it in the spirit of fosstodon (the mastodon instance he's on.)?

Is it handling the 5% correctly or is it just a lot more optimization passes that make the difference?

With the clarification that the same shape of the C major chord on the piano, when you move it up through the scale, the same shape produces all the diatonic three note chords of the scale, i.e C, Dm, Em, F, G, A, Bdim, C etc.

There's a lot of same shapes on the piano as well. And the differing shapes are a bit like how A major and C major have different shapes on the guitar isn't it, for practical reasons you don't use the same shape for those two

I love python, but it's one of the biggest annoyances. Local variables like in Lua make a lot of sense.

I have run into this problem in Python too, but not recently. I'm not sure if Python has changed or if I just caught on to the problem. This should be enough to show that it still can wind up as a problem in Python: funcs = [(lam

I'm sure that this is a very low quality text - I was reading the Swedish language version. It has technical qualities similar to human language which makes it harder to pinpoint the problem, but it does not read like something a profi

Wouldn't a reasonable compromise be to deny archiving of articles that are very recent? Let's say a month of age. That closes the paywall loophole.

If we grow our resource use to such a point that we reach a ceiling, then we are exactly like a pox, or any other organism that breeds until its niche is filled. Those who want to make us live sustainably now or previously are hoping that w

It's self-referential and that makes it non-obvious how it's accomplished. Changing the sentence changes the hash, which also changes the sentence. So in any case it's an interesting construction.

I think banking on SymEngineX ("SEX") for the Sympy 2.0 release would be interesting branding. I'm also cheering for Sympy, I think it's longevity now still predicts success in the future.
