Neither systemd nor wayland are actually junk just because they are "new". Wayland is the same people continuing their work, but no longer on Xorg but on Wayland and related technologies instead.

A prime minister usually has quite good offers after the political career. Rutte has been trying to get the leader role for NATO, for example, which is probably a step up in salary (?)

It's a fun concept but it goes wrong when people think these are the only correct terms to use. Enforcing someone's whimsical fun as a language norm is a misunderstanding.

When do these values get into memory, shouldn't they be in registers generally? Maybe it's when the program loaded to memory to execute, but is that part rowhammerable?

Nethergate was great(!) I think it hit an interesting story and setting, better than many of his other games that were available at that time, for me.

When starting multivariable calculus it might be a good place to start with clarifying this, at the latest.

Another correction, nagel might technically still have the meaning (metal) nail in the dictionary but it's not understood that way in modern swedish.

If I understand correctly, bcachefs, that new hot filesystem, is pretty similar to a database - maybe someone knows more about this.

There are examples to the contrary, people who despite the tragedy went on to do other things in life. President Joe Biden has outlived two of his children. In 1972, his daughter and wife died in a car accident.

2.x era python also had rolling deprecations and removals, so I thought it was a bit similar. For example in 2.5: > The old regex and regsub modules, which have been deprecated ever since Python 2.0, have finally been deleted. Other dele

Skype for business is hopefully dead but they used to do nearest-neighbor-downscaling of profile images. Even chat apps can do stuff wrong with images if they try hard enough.

Not sure, these optimizations multiply in power when used together. Propagate constants and fold constants, after that you can remove things like "if 0 > 0", both the conditional check and the whole block below it, and so on.

How do you access optimizations such as dead code removal and constant propagation using this technique?

Software and products changed fundamentally when ubiquitous internet access rolled out. Now every such product comes with a string attached (figuratively but literally), be it a game, a robot vacuum or a car.

Not related to this, excel has just introduced Python support and it's a pretty wild take on it all. You can have Python code in any cell, and all the cells share a namespace for their variables. GL HF everyone. Ideal: Functional. Real

I think I want my writing to reflect how I talk or think about it. So if the spoken sentence is "specification is a half millimetre" then write with ½ instead of "0.5" because the former will be read out correctly.

Using fractions sounds great, I think fractions have a human quality and are a more natural way to approach numbers. In writing, I think putting down 0.5 is slightly jarring compared to the better ½, at least in non-technical contexts.
