I think a simpler text would be better and less tedious for anyone in the document's audience, something along the lines of "box 'Tagged PDF' to box 'Accessibility'"

I learned all of cvs, svn and then later git when getting into Linux and Open Source. Based on my early experience of multiple systems, I'm very surprised that git has dominated and lasted this long already!

Mistakes and worse is going to be part of any system. Systematic partisanship is something else.

I've heard that too, but it's visible in the blog post.

WP has the tagline "Democracy Dies in Darkness" and I think the blog post title is a spoof of that.

Condemned has many other connotations which get in the way. "She condemned him" (she declared that he was reprehensible). "We condemn racism" (We really don't like racism). "Eternal condemnation" (Going to

I am surprised that so much is lacking in SHA-256 support. I had assumed that it was feature complete now.

I think you should say convicted instead of condemned. It's not really wrong, but condemned has many other connotations, which makes it less clear. It's not the first time he's convicted in court overall, but it's the fi

I think that misses the point (or at least my point). Yes it was warmer then. But it was even warmer 50 Myr ago. For example one thing that sets the two periods we are discussing apart was if Antarctica had glaciers at all or not. The Clima

The last million years had comparable temperatures, you'd need to go back to 50 Myr ago to have a significantly warmer climate, and without inland glaciation anywhere on Earth.

Refreshing with an actual blog. However, I found one problem: The atom feed doesn't parse, so I can't add it to my RSS reader.

Strangely enough though, there is a conflict around the foundation managing Hilma af Klint's art collection and they are now trying to change how the works are displayed and loaned based on stricter interpretations of her words.

I think it's good that people give advice. I need people to be explicit and not leave things unsaid. Better be upfront. I have needed this advice. Of course it takes luck for it to land, when you need it, but I have needed it. Quitting

I don't consider myself autistic, but a lot of the situations in the game are familiar. That's an extreme version of me on a bad day. On a good day (enough food, sleep, etc) I can handle it, sometimes explicitly thinking about it,

This reminds me -- very tenuously -- of how the shorthand for very good performance in the Python community is "like C". In the C community, we know that programs have different performance depending on algorithms chosen..

How can you criticize The Guardian of all places, when they let people read their articles for free? This is puzzling to me. To me, this is an example of how someone can be very generous and people still find a way to ask for more.

Tinymist is working very well with Neovim too - and there is a preview plugin based off of tinymist, too, for Neovim.

TeX has the idea that it's feature complete and should not develop, so then by definition (cheekily) it cannot attract any developers.

utf-8 is just an encoding of unicode. UTF-8 is specified in a way so that it can encode all unicode codepoints up to 0x10FFFF. It doesn't extend further. And UTF-16 also encodes unicode in a similar same way, it doesn't encode any

I think he's pretty well placed to implent good interfaces following his paradigm, noticeably different than some other authors. I like it, so I often think his take is the best. Snacks picker is now the best picker, for example.

The settings variable convention is not good, uses random variable prefixes. A new convention is needed, then the ball can start rolling on that. Until then the lazy nvim and/or setup paradigm is useful.
