I'm not sure if you're just lucky based on the setups at previous jobs, but for me it has been open floor plan so far. The only people who have offices are managers or C-Level executives. Currently I sit next to a door that is co

I was changing rooms via the app, and just sitting and letting the songs play while in a room, and the only way to hear them would be to manually change it on my Spotify app.

I was just curious because many developers enjoy (and want) people to use the stuff they write. I was just wondering if/how you tried to market it or show it to more people.

Those are all pretty awesome! Since they don't really make you any money - do people use them often then - if so how do people find them?

I've seen some people mention it in the past, but if their experiences doesn't match up to your own I'm not sure if it would work out very well. Most instances I think people find mentors while at work.

I'm always curious how people _find_ mentors. I have heard of a few services out there where you are able to book "x" amount of time with someone to talk about work or whatever (basically a mentor). Since finishing up school

I'll have to look into these! It seems like a great way to prepare food. I just haven't found something simple enough to start with I suppose.

Hey! Nice job I really like the idea and how it works. One thing I have noticed that sort-of breaks the experience for me is that every song change, room change, or anything else that stops music automatically changes my current device on

My main thing is that I feel each person/role in a team should _not_ feel Siloed off from one another. That's how I constantly feel - not being included on email chains, meetings, or told thing of importance till the last minute.

I wish this sort of knowledge transfer happened in teams more often. Even in a relatively small team >20 I have found that even simple communication or sharing of knowledge falls apart _Very_ quickly.

Does this hobby depend on where you are located? I assume some people have better places to go than others, but I can't think of a single place near me to even try this (Ohio). Also generally getting into this hobby alone seems hard.

I've reached out via email 2-3 times and twice in person. At a _very_ informal meeting (about a project) I had mentioned it as well on 6/29, but nothing has been said to me since. I'm not terribly sure how to go about forcin

Currently they don't exist - I've asked for a yearly one, but I suppose they haven't found time to give me a review. I've been at my current position (C# Dev) for almost a year and a half full time and I worked part time

If you don't mind me asking how did you get into Systems Programming? (Or how would you recommend someone getting into it?)

Gotcha - thanks! I haven't touched functional languages other than for fun lately, so I may take a look sooner or later. I've always been interested.

Is there a really good reason to choose to use F# over C#? Or does it really just come down to preference?

Thanks! I'll take a look! I have an AstroHat on my Pi and I think it should be straight forward-ish using one of these.

What language did you end up using to access the sensors? I've been ~hoping~ to use Go to access the GPIO pins, but haven't had much success - any suggestions?

At one point I began working on a Chrome plugin to accomplish just that.[0] It works for my personal use, but I haven't had time to get it to where users can share or +1/-1 others tags. I initially started working on it to no lon

As an intermediate dev - is it even ~really~ possible to get a remote job then? Assuming all of your demonstrating points are just from previous employment?
