I personally can't stand the style of javascript where each for loop causes a new function scope. It makes debugging extremely annoying. The use of _.each, forEach constructs with function parameters makes debugging all that more difficult.

That's an unfair hyperbole. CS saves you at most ~30% characters, and that's when omitting every parenthesis possible. I personally don't get excited by that prospect. Generators would get me excited, though!

I've also seen these meetings used as a way for people to "prove" that they have been working. The main problem I have with mandatory meetings is that they often impair one's ability to get work done. Some people work best when uninterrupte

It's a very beautiful visualization. I particularly enjoy seeing the period of each block correspond with the representative number. If only there were more visualizations like this for other mathematical concepts!

That was the interesting part for me, too. I am confused that none of the other comments in this thread touch on that. At first I thought maybe there is a third class of phone that we are omitting, where there is no option for a native app,

Also the statement for Fermat's Last Theorem isn't showing the exponents correctly (should be a^n+b^n=c^n)

I use a range of postures throughout the day. I spend a lot of time in an armchair in a common area, where I alternate between crossed legs, legs in front, or sometimes legs lying on the short table. I spend some time standing at my (not hi

Sometimes I let sites sign me in with FB/Twitter, because the alternative is giving them my email address, which seems nearly just as bad. And that way, I don't have to type anything.

Diaspora seemed to be heavily focused on the presentational layer of a social network, rather than the actual social network itself. That seems to have been premature. I like the approach of "Tent.io" much more. Simply work on building a co

Enjoyed skimming your article. If only more geeks actually wanted to teach kids... unfortunately most of us will only be able to do that once we've retired!

"Now, it’s less of what company had the best package, but more of who’s dream do the talented people believe in the most." It always bugs we when people don't know that "who's" is grammatically equivalent to "whose"

Interesting supposition, that the IPO might have gone down much differently if somehow NASDAQ had been more prepared or messed something up. But the last statement - that it could have been trading at $60 and $70, that is hard to believe.

Every time I've interviewed for a job I have been annoyed by the interview questions. Yet, when I am interviewing others, I do exactly the thing that annoys me. What is the alternative? It's just a way to talk shop.
