Yes, this is something I always say when others tell me that someone else has already executed my idea. If I have a problem and am not aware of a product out there that solves it, then there MUST be others who are no more aware than me. Tho

Right, so your advice to someone wanting to kill themselves is to make sure they kill others too. That's about the absolute stupidest piece of advice I have ever been unfortunate to read. The only person wanting attention here is you. No on

If it means anything, I've worked with the OP and he is a very kind, cooperative and fun person to work alongside. You come off just as judgmental as you're making him out to be.

Yeah, I was just helping him correct a misspelling in the post, that still hasn't been caught. "Here’s a sample of what CSS rules this mixin hanldes for you:"

That's fine. But I doubt the majority of students out there yelling their hearts out for free education know what's involved in working towards that goal.

What really got me going were the protesters with signs saying education should be offered for no cost. And I'd say the majority of them just jumped onto the fastest moving bandwagon and protested because it was the cool progressive thing t

Off the top of my head, YC company BaseShield has a Windows app store. I'm not sure if they're open to app submissions, or handle purchases, though.

Yeah, I think this could be a great way for people to learn. Perhaps some of the hackers from the #startups channel can hang there and offer their hacking wisdom.

Yeah, definitely interested. My email is in my profile.

Hey man, I recently had a similar revelation that I just needed to learn how to code. I picked up ruby a week ago with the intent of learning rails and building web apps. I knew a bit of python/django before, but nothing that could be consi

I'm kind of the opposite. I love to work in secret and have others underestimate me, so that when I do go public about a project, I deliver a nice shocking punch. Then I brag the hell out of it at that point.

I've been noticing many acceptable comments being downvoted a lot recently.

Both replies are making it out to be like I said the deal was stupid. It was a very smart move on his part leveraging his fame to reap such huge rewards. The debate was whether his fame had anything to do with it, and it did. He would not h

Right, but it's still because he was already famous. You can argue about what constitutes 'more rich' and 'significantly more rich', but at the end of the day, his already earned fame was probably the biggest reason to him being successful

50 Cent took his payment in company stock, that's why his pay out was so huge. I'm sure if other celebrities followed suit, they'd see similar returns.

Jump to Conclusions Mat is a reference to the movie Office Space. It's a great movie you should check out some time.

That's actually what I meant. It's not supposed to be developer specific. I was thinking about problems you may experience as you get ready to head to work, hear others complain about on the train ride over, or from those eating in the boot

Why the hell is this reply, and its parent, being downvoted? They're both insightful opinions by users who have made really insightful contributions here for a while.

I'm not sure if this is how Bing will kill Google, but I do think Bing is going to slowly take a lot of market share away from Google. How? Niche specific search customization. For a while now I've been bugged by how searching anything on G

In the world or high end fashion, couture, etc, it's almost a constant for women to be a size 0 or 2. Designers don't make 10 different sizes. They'll only make 1 or 2 which is enough to fit the type of women who tend to wear their clothes.

Yeah, I get that. People here are just taking cheap shots based on their belief that because Dustin hasn't worked at a big company, his opinion and demand for a better product are invalid. I wonder if people would have said the same had it

Right, and yet, even with tens of comments here, triggered by Dustin's posts, about how utterly crappy AA's experience is, we shouldn't criticize AA because that's just how big companies are. JetBlue is concerned with all the same factors y
