Firstly, LLM chat interfaces != agentic coding platforms. ChatGPT is good for asking questions about languages, SDKs, and APIs, or generating boilerplate, but it's useless if you want to give an AI a ticket and for it to raise PRs for

I am just a biological neural net, not so different from the "machines" anymore, really. They can even create works of art, where I would struggle. They can even emulate human emotions to make people feel more comfortable, which i

I don't want to argue the validity of AI taking jobs, but I really miss the tech job market in mid 00s to early 10s so much. It was genuinely such an exciting time back then. People were still optimistic about the web and new platform

Why are all the label colours for the "Worst-case HealthBench score at k samples" chart the same colour and the same shape? Completely unreadable.

I agree, but I've worked with many people now who seem to prefer one massive file. Specifically Python and React people seem to do this a lot. Frustrates the hell out of me as someone who thinks at 300-400 lines generally you should st

Yeah, that's exactly what I took away from this too... I get why it's worth noting MCP servers in the article since these could provide a large attack vector, but it seems odd to focus on that as if that is the core security vulne

They did this with IE back in the day right? Not because it was particularly slow, but because the it gave them an advantage over competitors like FF which couldn't use preloaded windows libraries to load as quickly? I might be wrong.

I think large part of the issue here is that ChatGPT is trying to be the chat for everything while taking on a human-like tone, where as in real life the tone and approach a person will take in conversations will be very greatly on the cont

What would a junior developer be doing? Genuinely wondering what you would pay a junior developer to do today which couldn't do more cost effectively with AI? If you're talking about someone with a bit of technical knowledge who&#

If you're a senior dev and not already 20% more productive from AI you're doing something wrong. In 2-3 years 1 dev will easily be able to do what 2 devs could 5 years ago – e.g. you can half your senior dev team and operate at th

What's your argument? I assume you've used devin.ai then? What is and isn't it able to do in your honest experience? I'd be shocked if it can't do at least 20-30% of your development.

You don't need to. Most of the cost of senior developers can be cut soon too when the AI improves. ~2 years and I'd guess you could cut 50% of your senior dev costs for AI.

Depending on the project Devin.ai should be able to replace ~50% of development. No one should be hiring junior devs in 2025 imo.

Yep, this is definitely the last generation of developers. People here massively underestimate the technological curve we're on and how quickly tech jobs are, and will continue to be replaced in the coming years. I think I commented a

I don't think I am, and for context here I have built my own DQNs from scratch to learn to play games like Snake. I'd argue if you consider the size of the input and output space here it's not as complex you're implying.
