I thought Apple was pretty good about respecting user privacy. If you opt out of sharing analytics with Apple, what information to they still gather and store?

This might just be the thing that gets me to switch. I use "Show Image" for the image search all the time.

Obviously the more speed the better for PC and residential internet connections, but for me and probably a lot of other people 4G is more than fast enough for what we need on our phones. In fact, I have the AT&T "Unlimited Choice&q

There's a burger chain here in the Bay Area called The Melt which has iPad-based kiosks where you can order your food, pay for it with a credit card, and pick up a buzzer (to let you know when it's ready) without having to talk to

I think the problem isn't so much that people are using laptops in cafes, but that some people will linger for hours (usually on a laptop, but sometimes not) taking up a seat that could be used by someone else. Maybe a loosely-enforc

I have had that experience for years. It can be quite disheartening to see the sun set while you are on your way home. Try watching the sun set from work, then glancing at the clock and seeing that you won't leave for ano

It's easy to get rid of stuff if it's no big deal to just buy it again. Less well-off people don't have that luxury.

Exactly. The complete loss of international tourism (and realistically there wouldn’t ever be a complete loss unless we closed the border) would result in a 1% loss for the US GDP/economy. Not nothing, but certainly not devastating.

To be honest, I doubt the amount of money brought into the US by foreign tourists amounts to much in the big scheme of things. I respect your principled stand against the threats against your security and privacy by the US Government, but i

I actually think that the 27" 5K display in the iMac Pro is going to age quicker than the internal components. I suspect that ~32" 8K displays will be mainstream in a year or two.

The reason why Apple requires you to press the physical side button to confirm a purchase with Apple Pay or in the App Store is because pressing the side button can’t be faked by an app. If it was an on-screen button, a nefar

Let’s say we get to a point where being driven autonomously is cheaper and more convenient than owning and driving your own car. Wouldn’t the people that still choose to drive, despite the higher cost, be the people that like driving? And

No other manufacturer has a charging network like the Supercharger network, and that isn't likely to change anytime soon. Not being able to take a car on the occasional long-ish trip greatly diminishes its utility for a lot of people.

If you have weighted the costs of driving vs the increased injury and fatality rate of cycling and have concluded that cycling is be better option for you, then that totally makes sense.

Right, but if the risk backfires, who pays the cost? The driver has a few scrapes on the bumper and the cyclist is seriously injured or dead.

Not to be snarky, but have you considered driving or taking a taxi/Uber/Lyft? If you're going to spend a bunch of time on the main road, why not do it in a car?

This might be interesting if there’s no long-term commitment. While leasing and financing would obviously be much cheaper, those involve three to five year terms. If I could pay $3000/month and drive a 911 for a summer I might be very

Thank you for not allowing pets. I both dislike and am allergic to dogs, and it annoys me when people think it's no big deal to bring their dog into the office. This is not your home, this is a professional workspace that we all share.
