You're right that quantization isn't anything special here, but red herring isn't the right word, it's just "embarrassingly simple", per the title.

We shouldn't be rushing to explore space when we haven't even explored our own planet's ocean, or page 16 of google search results.

It's called "Chromecast with Google TV" and it wasn't $25 until they made the cheaper version that doesn't do 4k. Afaik Google TV is to Android TV what Pixel OS is to Android. Both the "Chromecast with Google T

I think different people prefer different things, and also different creators provide different things. I enjoy smaller Twitch channels where the chat isn't going 1000mph because you can actually chat with other viewers. There's d

At $83 though, it only takes 5 months for you to break even on the most basic Photoshop-only Creative Cloud plan ($20/month). And when they actually release version 3 you can decide whether to upgrade or just stay on V2.

Flutter is open-source though, are you actually worried about Google dropping it and the community being unable to support it? For context, Killed By Google lists AngularJS, which received updates through 2021, about 5 years after Angular (

I get the idea, but a lot of these examples seem dubious to me. Between Facebook's advertiser interest groups and Tiktok's "uncanny" subconscious-tapping For You page, the Spotify example is pretty benign? > Spotify s

Interestingly, the actual source (at least in a similar tweet[0]) was a fracking company[1] who seems to have an automated system filling their blog's "Industry Perspectives" section by republishing random articles that sound

Tenants are already against landlords, that's how it works. "Allowing workers to report their employers for labor violations is only deepening the social divide between labor and management."

Partly because for a long time Android allowed apps to do their own billing for subscriptions and other IAP, as long as the content you purchased could be accessed on other platforms (with a big carveout for games, which always had to use P
