Fair enough. Thanks. The chilling effect of "social media" is something else though...

You make it sounds like I've never to the USA. I have lived almost all my life in Canada, have Nexus, went to a top US university, lived in USA almost 3 years of my life. Zero criminal record of any kind. I still got stopped maybe 40-5

Ask HN: Are you finding it harder to enter the US in the last couple of months?

Liberation day indeed... when Canada/Australia/Europe/South Korea/Japan are now the enemy I'm not sure there are any more friends left.

And he was already president once. It's not like he was a champion of free speech the first time around...

Why is this behind a google form...? There isn't even a screenshot of what it looks like before collecting an email address. What a strange post to hit front page.

Mind elaborating a bit? This is the first time I'm hearing this. I thought their entire selling point was privacy and end-to-end encryption for emails.

Meta and Zuckerberg never believed in democracy. Just the highest bidder.

Wait... so you telling me they CAN moderate the content?

What a nonsensical article. I could've used the 30 seconds I skimmed it back.

Nice try, Meta.

Well said. I have had the exact same experience. As I have gotten older I have made more friends. More importantly, more meaningful connections that are by choice and not by circumstances.

Come to latam and you'll see some intense confrontation when something gets stolen. I was in a hostel when someone broke into lockers and they tracked him to the a bus station and got all their stuff back + dude in handcuffs to police

I would argue that Ubuntu is almost there on par (and in my view superior) experience with Windows. Windows just comes preinstalled on most PCs sold and most people don't know/want to install an OS on their new machines.

Remember kids, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and any sugary cereal is good for you as long as it's low fat!

That sums up how I feel about it. I can see the appeal, but for that kind of mental effort I rather just keep coding.

I hope there's enforcement here. I mean just look at this garbage: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/metamask/nkbihfbeog... I once tried reporting these blatant phishing reviews, but apparently on Goog

I cannot recommend reading A Mathematician's Apology enough. It was written by GH Hardy and I think it's one of the best non-math texts out there to understand how a mathematician's brain works. https://en.wikipedi

Pihole is a very well documented project and I have been using it for years. It's incredible. Test this page on your phone without an ad block and see how it goes: https://adblock-tester.com/

pihole is network wide, like it can block a ton of ads on your iPhone too and as far as I know there's no way to get ublock origin on an iPhone.
