I had my first TrackPoint contact when I joined IBM. They gave me a ThinkPad 755CD. They still owned the PC Division. There was no touchpad, so it took me about 30~60 minutes to get used to the trackpoint (maybe less). Since them I have had

Where do you get them for 90? I only see them at 190 in Germany. https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/ProductCategory/3233.ht...

One of the problems was that most companies where developing OS/2 version of their apps, as Microsoft had promised that was the future, while Microsoft was building Windows apps. By the time they realized their mistake, it was already

Thanks. I have mostly used Ubuntu and Fedora, as most of the time, if some software is not in the repos, it will have installers for both of them. But I am always tempted to try SuSE.

I was given an M1 MacBook Pro at my current job. I was really impressed by how cold and fast the machine is. Sadly MacOS is so alien to me, not to mention that MacBooks don't have trackpoints, that I requested a ThinkPad Carbon X1. Lov

That is exactly why I no longer use Firefox. I moved to germany and I don't speak german, so you can imagine browsing without this functionality is impossible.

I pay for google music, or whatever the name is today, and I see no ads. Bandwidth, servers, the employees, etc. have a cost, so it is only natural that companies make money somehow, either through ads or by subscription. EDIT: it is YouTu

That is a generic response. They never tell you, so you can never defend yourself, or even fix the problem.

Yeah, 800 euros for something that for me would be to remember my C128 days is too high. I can get a RPi4 for much less and install an emulator. I understand that this is (should?) be better, but still, 800 euros!

I remember travelling to NY with my father for turism, but also taking the opportunity to buy an original ibm PC XT for 5000 dollars, which was half of what it costed at my home country. IBM PC AT with a powerful 286 was already out but muc

I have been using chat systems since ICQ. I really don't get the hype on Slack and Discord. Discord in particular is so crowded, and I like tight interfaces, that is overwhelming. Maybe it is the servers that I have, but I am sure that
