This isn't really "pinning" a pull request. The problem is not that "GitHub Pull Requests are dynamic". Any branch name is just an alias for the latest commit in that branch. For example master is just an alias for the latest commit in ma

Michael Bloomberg has a BS in EE. So this isn't that far-fetched. But thus was more a call to action than anythjng so Jeff Atwood is getting caught up taking a political platitude at face value.

Depending on what browsers you're supports it's probably far easier to use generated content (:before, :after). Maybe combined with calc or CSS expressions.

Kudos. This is very impressive. However, I think iframes + postMessage + xframe DOM/BOM abstraction is the more clean, reliable, usable, etc. way to go. Or defining a sandbox API for browsers that doesn't require iframes. But this could

No company in their right mind should sign this. This throws the baby out with the bathwater. There are actually legitimate uses for patents and if you're working on something non-trivial your company might want to (and might even be obli

Putting the word "worth" in quotes kind of makes this article "worth" nothing, doesn't it?

When VCs make money they generally don't reinvest it, which is why they always look for 10x in the long term rather than 2x in the (very) short term.

I'm guessing this security hole is a regression because I could have sworn I tried this before. But I don't remember for certain.

Not necessarily. You could make the CSRF request on, for example, 80 percent of the views to make it look legit. You could even take a more sophisticated approach and start by automatically upvoting for 100 percent of logged in users just

Uh no. I've seen Aziz's standup live. I thought it was terrible. But not surprised to see no one else agree - he is really popular with some folks.

I was looking at that video too and thinking it doesn't look or feel natural. It's a good trick and actually a good demo. I think the physics are kind of off in the final video though.

Normally, I'm a huge Aziz detractor but I think this has a shot at being more successful than Louis CK's special. I think Aziz is more popular with children of the Internet.

I'd watch that movie. The CG wasn't perfect but it was far from zombie-like. The primary problems were subtle stiffness here and there and a feeling that the words were being lip-synced at certain moments.

This could be a game changer. Restuarant management software is a space that needs innovation as well - I'd be surprised if they don't roll something out that incorporates both payments and reservations.

That's not evil. Youtube is at the mercy of "big content " and they have to comply with copyright claims. They're not in the business of judging whether a something can be copyrighted - that's a job for the courts.
