Yeah! I have been flying for decades. Delta seems to have a cycle of climbing to excellence and falling. United Air Lines has always made me miserable reliably.

Fridges have come a long way in efficiency. I cannot believe that operating a fridge from the 80s or before is not a ridiculous waste of money, no matter how inexpensive your electricity is.

Buy the finishing parts from the better variant along with the control (or steal them along with the control if you raid a used machine?)

elektrotanya is one good library. ~10 years ago I decided to obtain and review service manuals before buying machinery, to be sure I could have the documentation and to try and figure out what pile of crap I am getting into.

An SMPS controller burned on my LG Washer control. LG didn't have any boards in stock, so I decided to repair it myself. Pried the board out of the tray with autobody pry tools and pulled away the silicone goo where I needed to repai

This is interesting because the US government has charged, extradited and imprisoned criminals who have never touched US soil.

The deadlock is not activated when the doors are locked from the inside. The telematics center apparently sent a command to activate the deadlock as if it were locked from the outside. He may have been able to open the doors if he knew ho

I still use SoftICE (DOS) for its debugger! (I still get legacy projects from time to time.) But it requires a lot more manual labor to understand a binary.

I have seen this quite often in legacy devices. 20 years ago there wasn't ida-pro, and the designers probably felt more secure about leaving all the pieces of the puzzle in the hands of the enduser. Real cryptography was more difficu

But these GPIO's are generally not sources of Vcc/Vdd. Without reading technical details about the actual chip, I always assume they are weak pullups to Vcc/Vdd, that are shunted to ground (Vee/Vss) when 0. So, a 5v pul

Hey nice work! This new silicon that is not tolerant of 5v inputs grinds my gears. I wonder if you could have used zener diodes instead of a more complicated level shifter to stay on the STM32. I really don't like the avr anymore.

I don't understand how these things get revealed in court. The cops are lying to secure warrants and charging documents, so why don't they keep lying when they're on the stand during a trial?

A 400W arc lamp plus losses (possibly bringing the total to 600W) was enough to grow 3x3ft. of plants in soil. Plenty of this light was in the green area so not absorbed by plants. I have never seen lima bean plants grow so big or be so p

Your assumptions that they would need to redesign and tool up for brand new complex motherboard and housing parts are incorrect. This is a foolish way to accommodate a request to physically move a connector.
