Successor? I don't think so. I think some individuals were part of both groups. L0pht and cDc were part of the same BBS scene. Like QSD's x.25 address, the phone number for Demon Roach Underground is a number I'll never f

Apples to oranges. Can't compare the seagate junk to a quality WD or Hitachi that's far more likely to still be spinning _today._

That is noise inherent in the (low quality) audio amplifier.

I think the article is pretty good because they didn't filter out any of the silliness on the part of some of these people. It really shines through to us rational types and this piece gave me the biggest laughs I had today. Also I do

You are confused, are misinformed, or misunderstand. BPL did not take hold because it fundamentally caused interference to HF radio. BPL itself has nothing to do with wireless anything. It is not the usual case that cities own powerlines.

I think that we had it in the past in the USA. Almost a hundred years ago an electronics market sprung up in New York City, and electronics manufacturing factories in the city and suburbs. I think it was Robert Moses who decided to raze Ra

I read "Getting Started" over and over from age 7 or so. Nothing else made any sense at that age. It took me a while to digest it but I did figure out enough to do more with the "160 in one electronics board" [1] than

What held back the 3b1? That's rarely mentioned in these parts, but it was a fantastic machine from a company that had experience building real computers (if even for its own use.)

Anti War has always meant Terrorist to the FBI. This is a precedent going back at least to World War I. (I don't know if any anti-war activists were imprisoned before then.)

This is another example of the arbitrariness of the justice system. 10 years for 104 kg of MDMA? That's at least 300,000 doses. So many people have gotten so much more time for so much less.

I think the regime that you're under would be quite an improvement to here, which is chaos. Crashes were not common, the situation on the road was orderly, almost everyone followed the rules perfectly. Are your insurance costs high?
