Absolutely not. There are two opinions that I hold that are relevant here: - If I buy parts that are certified to work together, and I use them according to their respective manuals, they should work as specified. - If I desire to manually

These Motherboards are Intel certified. If I get a mod shop to install a ferrari certified part, I expect the part to work.

Is it possible you're vonfusing that user with me? I used to be relatively vocal about this issue on HN. For reference, that's not me. And it's probably not niche if dozens of users are posting about it for years.

Oh, I absolutely agree that the complexity is in these topics. I'm just sceptic that they're enough to turn a task that could run on a laptop into one that requires an entire cluster of machines. The third party API is the part th

In the case of 3D arrangements, you don't necessarily need to create all the layers photolithographically. You might be able to flatten N layers into 1 layer, then add a plastic coating equivalent to N-1 layers ontop, then repeat that.

We assume they don't log this data. We don't know whether an intelligence agency is listening in on their servers and logging this data. Assuming an eavesdropper that can defeat TLS or is listening via DMA attacks on the signal se

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but that's about 2700 a second. Or about 3Mbps. Even a very unoptimized application running on a dev laptop can serve 1Gbps nowadays without issues. So what are the constraints that demand a c

They either already store or would be able to log everything about who is sending messages to whom, and when. That's the vast majority of what intelligence agencies actually care about. They rarely care about message contents anymore.

Why would you need a 3D printer or pick&place machines? You can just do it photolithographically. Coat a piece of glass with a thin layer of metal. Put a photoresist on top. Project the desired pattern onto it with UV light. Wash the un

The article you've posted is engaging in mental gymnastics and misrepresentation that I've never considered possible. To sum up the facts: - PiS got into power several years ago - PiS fired all the journalists of public broadcaste

Honestly, I prefer going to Aldi Nord. It's a cleaner, more focused shopping experience, while Aldi Süd and Lidl tends to have too much distracting fluff.

Would make sense. Aldi tends to operate on a fixed margin. In the past that used to be around 2-3%, which is why, until 2014, they wouldn't accept credit or US debit cards, as the fees were higher than their margin and they couldn'

No need for a relay. The actual XMPP servers nowadays support GCM natively. The client generates a GCM token and just hands that to the XMPP server. The server doesn't have to send actual message content either, it can just be a "

That requires each and every user to do the moderation for themselves. Which few if any want. Most users actually want moderation, as long as they can decide whose ban list applies to the content they see.

Design patents, except for highly specific names and logos, shouldn't be a thing. Luckily the LEGO case has already shown that any design patent that even slightly affects functionality is automatically invalid.
