I'd prefer to see something like Matrera Castle. For architecture I find it a bit much, probably because it needs to be structurally sound, but for a skeleton or an antique it could bring more attention to the real parts and still offe

I just have to disagree. A car company can and should expect the users to read the manual. If you only use what's visible in the driver's seat, you'll never find the sump plug, service plan, tyre spec, engine bay... The alter

The manual or dealer? Most people aren't renting, I think it's fair to place function over discoverability in something you could spend years of your life operating.

There's a station near me that just opened. Pay at pump, pumps only on one side. 'Surely' I thought, as I pulled up, 'the hoses will reach the other side'. They didn't. So I got out to move my hatchback car clo

Invoke a slippery slope argument by name irritates me because the name comes from the slippery slope fallacy . It's poor faith debate because it's relies on the unfalsifiable notion that thing A will lead to slipping to thing B.

I agree. If a bank has physical branches to fall back on, they can squander the online/phone story. This has happened with another bank I use which has a website with a broken account creation form and phone lines that just die. For mo

My employer uses Ubuntu for most developers, meaning all our software is designed to work on the latest LTS Ubuntu and we (I assume) pay a significant amount for support. But the only reason we use Ubuntu is because it's more familiar

Every Proton incompatibility I've faced so far has been something like this. e.g. it can't boot because the DRM doesn't work, or the paths don't resolve properly. If I can get to the options screen it's plain sailin

Editors can assume a level of RTFM that browsers will not. If it's not discoverable enough for someone unfamiliar, it won't make it in.

Firefox's implementation of this annoys me. If I'm trying to find a page I was on before, I sort history by date (obviously) and go back to around the time I was on it to start clicking. ...which drags the website I clicked on to

The credit score that an agency sells to you won't change, but that's just a tool for them to sell you things like Amazon are selling here, and doesn't reflect the way a lender will look at the credit history , your salary,

There are essentially no CMake answers that are valid for creating idiomatic, modern CMake. I know how to correct the answers but can't unless I jump through the hoops. So I don't.
