TEMPEST [1] Is a US Gov't program revolving around, essentially, emissions security. It has been known for decades that you can spy on someone using e.g. the EM emissions from their monitor/VGA cable. This is a tweet apparently hi

Wow! That surprises me, and I probably never would have checked, so thanks. I think of FT8 as deep magic at this point, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's enough to reach pretty far

I'm doing the same thing, but specifically for reviews/recommendations. I can't remember the last time I had even an inkling of trust for a review published on a website. Reddit is basically the only source I have for potent

Also, a few more items that I recall being difficult to figure out- 1. FT8 uses a standard frequency setting on each band. The presets are built-in to WSJT-X, or you can find them online. WSJT-X and your SDR client should be set to the same

I don't recall any specific how-to sites, I was all over a lot of them. There are three applications in my 'pipeline': SDR++ (a standard SDR client, any should work as long as you can choose your audio output device), WSJT-X

This is the antenna: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LVYTL5V I doubt that I could transmit with this, but I could be wrong. It's not something I've investigated.

I recently got back into amateur radio with an SDR (listening only, my license has lapsed and I need to renew it) I found that using the FT8 protocol, I can pick up transmissions from up to ~6000 miles away, using a very cheap magnetic loop

Headline is false, the image in the linked article clearly shows that this is not the first search result. It's an ad above the first search result. "Threads buys App Store ads with Mastodon keyword" is a better headline

I commonly do work in this space, and my solution is a standard ATA hooked up to a Peplink device for cellular connectivity. My experience has been that 'serving' over a cellular connection is dicey, and I've abandoned my que

Their FAQ says this: Over time we expect to open-source core parts of Mojo, such as the standard library. However, Mojo is still young, so we will continue to incubate it within Modular until more of its internal architecture is fleshed

Microwave towers between e.g. Chicago and NYC achieve lower latencies than fiber optic cables. Signals travel faster through the air HFT pays huge sums for lower latencies. This is just the next step in their progression As an amateur radio

In 2005 I worked for a small radio shop. Firewall was running Coyote Linux, which booted off a single 3.5" floppy with write protect switched on.

To echo the other reply, I don't rely on email for critical comms. If I had to rely on email for critical comms, I would use a product that lets me see the SMTP logs, and alert on failures. I would have some backup provider that I coul

I might just be tired, but it seems like this article is poorly written. Which contention is tied to the alleged front group? Is Coca-Cola trying to get us to believe that aspartame is dangerous, or are they trying to get us to believe it&#
