This is not DNA. This is kind of inertia, following the herd. They do what they believe their organisation believes in. When people see that there are too many beliefs in it, they can strive for something simpler and more useful.

What to you think about vmtouch'ing the ~/.mozilla dir periodically in order to keep it in a fs cache, instead of artificially having it on a shm fs? Btw, vmtouch: http://hoytech.com/vmtouch/

I like long periods of being offline. Still, looking for information is a common way of procrastinating. So for me spending too much time on HN is an indication that I'm pushing away something to do which actually bores me. The best way to

There's awesome JRuby wrapper around it: Celerity I went the route: Mechanize -> HtmlUnit (from inside Clojure to be more scriptable) -> ended with Celerity and most happy.

Funny. My friend was much like that guy (also with some framework past, he did some extensions to the eZ for instance) but switched to Ruby recently and says: no intention to go back. First he just started to generate pages using erb, much

You may think that cultural impact has no borders but certainly one thing has borders: the countries and laws respected inside them. Your country respects one's life no matter whether he hurt somebody's feelings or not. It is a sane system

Your last claim is not true. Most NoSQLs don't have transactions thus can't have any ACID properties. ACID is all about transactions in the first place.

Not having a good conversation on an average blog just means this is not a good medium for such conversation. Instead of artificially pumping faked content we should strive to hack a better medium.

This point of view is miserably broken. Yes, planet is overpopulated, in Asia & Africa. On the contrary, by having kids in a highly developed country and by giving them education one is doing a favor to this planet & its culture.
