I posted this on the White House "Contact Us" webpage: "I received notice on a technology message board that CISPA is being reintroduced with an executive order. The previous bill, which was shot down a few years ago, would have infringed u

Doesn't matter if it's signed code. I still turned off Secure Boot on my T430. It is rare that I have ever gotten malware, much less any that execute code at boot. Boot-sector virii died off in the late 90s. Make no doubt about it; this is

Great. First pesticides, and now this. No thanks, I don't want to breathe in atomized droplets of highly corrosive acid. I'd rather die from excessive global heat than live with the unknown ramifications of injecting the earth with acid. Th

It may not be much of a boost in performance, but RTOS systems do enhance stability. First off, there are no memory leaks, so the performance of the phone won't degrade over time requiring a reboot as is often the case with my Nexus 4. The

Well, if the incentive is there (I haven't researched much into the SDK yet), I'll develop for BB10. I really see the potential here and how this OS can really make an impact on the mobile landscape. I hope other developers will share the s

Did you even read the review? This isn't related AT ALL to the old OS7 Bold or any other Blackberry line, which were awful. BB10 can do much more than an iPhone and be just as productive while providing a rich media experience.

Lovely. This is really the first true smartphone OS since webOS that I'm actually excited for. The gestures are a little worrisome, however, with a 4-inch display. I have small hands, and it seems the gestures would require use of two hands

Why didn't they just jump to KDE 5? KDE 4.10 is a confusing name, because in standard decimal format it would look like KDE 4.1... This looks very nice. KDE is the most polished desktop environment currently out there for Linux/BSD/illumos,

Nice, but does it have the cojones to keep up with Microsoft and Sony? Doubtful. I think this will be a niche console for geeks, because of one reason: Content. It's a vicious cycle. With no content, customers won't want it, and with no cus

I think it would be really cool to see RISC have a resurgence on desktops in the form of 64-bit ARM chips. ARM technology is getting better and better every day. One of these days x86-64 is going to be antiquated, and by then, imagine the p

I don't see really how skeuomorphism is a bad thing. If you make things too alien in any sort of UI, it can throw off many users, sometimes even advanced ones. The thing that I don't believe many people realize is that skeuomorphism has bee

Up until 10.6, actually, Apple used to produce very good, generally bug-free software. Starting with 10.7, they've begun to rush their software just because they have, say, 4 new "features". The yearly release cycle is partly to blame, but
