What is truly a scary thought is if the vast, mindless mass of people easily swayed by consumerism, advertisement and buzz, talk about this for about two weeks and then forget the whole thing, screaming "We have NOTHING to hide!" as a log

Since everything is out anyway, and since everyone else has iterated on this point several times now, all I have to say, is: FUCK YOU, BIPARTISAN, CORRUPT, DICKISH, TYRANNICAL, WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT. FUCK YOU, GOVERNMENT.

TINLA, but to be honest, I don't have much sympathy for the original author. The letter wasn't threatening at all, it was polite and worded nicely. Its contents also pertained to the use of a Pinterest-styled logo, the similar typeface, and

You'll learn to feel every line of code you write This is exactly how I felt when I started writing C. I started out with .NET and Java. Both had quite high abstraction levels, and not much deep integration with hardware. I took m

It's sad that the taped interviews by Isaacson haven't been released to the public with the Jobs family's permission. There's perhaps so much insight, and so much brilliance in those interviews.

Yes, it would be, but then again -- computers are dynamic . We manipulate text around on screen, not just read it like we do in a book. Sufficient horizontal space is required for that.

I'm working on a laptop right now, which is part of the reason for my animosity towards 16:9. 16:10 displays exist, yes, but they're both expensive and limited in range. I can no longer find a decent 22" 16:10 monitor; they're all 16:9. The

Horizontal resolution is important as well. 1080 pixels of horizontal resolution is far too little. 1440 is the same as my MacBook's Air's horizontal res, which is kind of ridiculous when I'm paying in excess of $1000 for a monitor. Again,

But you can do that with 8:5, plus get the same vertical screen height as the 16:9 display. You can still use xmonad/dwm/whathaveyou like you want; you'll just have more vertical height per slice.

Are you using a CRT monitor? I can't even tell the difference between 120Hz and 60Hz on a monitor, simply because the display doesn't flicker. If you're using your monitor for gaming, well, that's a different story.

It's disappointing that every new display I see is still stuck with the archaic 16:9 resolution. Sure, humans may have more periphery side-to-side. This is great for television. But, when you read a book, I doubt you read it horizontally. S

I find this extremely saddening because Camino offered the best native experience for OS X, with all the polish of a well-designed Cocoa app, on top of Gecko. I'll miss Camino.

It "tastes" like synthetic crap. Before I was put on dietary restrictions I made my own ginger ale, because the stuff that was sweetened with HFCS tasted acidic and far, far too sweet. More sweetness doesn't always taste well.

...what? That would be quite ridiculous. And the "safe" browser thing will never happen, so long as open-source is alive. Nobody can control the Web. The W3C is forgetting that.
