Honestly I can't see a solution beyond concentrating power to highly localized regions. Lots more mayors, city councils, etc. so there is a real chance you can meet someone who represents you. I don't fully believe anything I se

Fifty Celsius is an insane drop. It sounds like the most important part of the article (and another cool quote) is this: >Until recently we knew how to grow it only at circuit-slagging temperatures in excess of 1,000 °C. So basically, th

I don't think it's particularly surprising that humans are better at things than robots, sometimes even purpose-built robots. The question is if robots are good enough that the difference doesn't really matter. It's thro

I use circle-K because it's like 3 blocks from me. The self-checkout seems to work fine. I buy alcohol on the rare occasion I drink, and even then the cashier just steps to the side for one moment to check my ID, presses a button, and

These are cool. I wonder how much they screw with satellites etc.? How predictable are they? It seems like it's just a deadly, mostly-invisible wall of energy flying around at unbelievable speeds!

I’m not sure if people are aware, but there’s a little-known secret about America not having state-funded healthcare. Did any of you know? Don’t forget this important fact! It’s related to every single American topic.

When the popular running theme of complaints is "it's impossible to do X because poor people all work 168 hours a week minimum", it's easy to excuse wasting your money to save time.
