Also please appreciate how fast this site is. The average website bloat is imperceptible until you open a page like this.

I thought I was the only one using git-ignored .stuff directories inside project roots! High five!

I value both my experience and the users, and every asciinema release was backward compatible with the earlier ones (with few exceptions, where language change was not a factor), changing nothing in terms of UI/UX/API. The languag

Feel free to NOT use asciinema.org if it doesn't meet your expectations for a reliable service. You can always self-host the server in your ultra-reliable, super-scalable K8S cluster.

There’s few reasons for this. First, I don’t have infinite budget for this, in fact the budget is close to 0 (sponsorships and donations help). Second, the servers are sponsored by Brightbox, and I’ve been running asciinema.org there for ov

The CPU usage was single digit (%) with no viewers (but other requests being served) with btop at 100ms, so that's not adding a lot. But thanks!

asciinema.org is currently being hugged to death! The btop stream is from one of the servers, currently reporting 95% CPU usage: https://asciinema.org/s/olesiD03BIFH6Yz1 But it's chugging along! asciinema server i

The CLI has been rewritten in Rust. The server is still Elixir/Phoenix - perfect for this feature.

I wish they listed Caddy before Traefik there - Caddy pioneered this hands-free certificate automation in a webserver.

I watched one of those videos and it was very underwhelming, imho not really selling Claude Code to anyone who isn’t convinced.

On a related note, asciinema player supports good ol' typescript files produced by the script(1) command. https://blog.asciinema.org/post/blast-from-the-past/

This has been changed. In 2.4 there’s explicit prompt for save/upload/discard. Since 3.0 there’s no auto upload in any form - you always record to a file, and to upload you need to explicitly run `asciinema upload filename`.

You can get a plain text log of a recorded session in several ways. If you uploaded to asciinema server (e.g. asciinema.org) then you can click on Download and select txt format. Or, with the CLI 3.0, you can either: - convert existing cast

It’s very widely supported from my experience. This is how asciinema captures terminal palette.
