I love Kdevelop so much. Since the integration of the Clang ecosystem, the C++ language support really improved a lot. Kdevelop just feels so much faster then, for instance, Eclipse.

The standard explanation to this question is that Germans are risk-averse. People don't trust stocks but better want to save their money in a savings bank book. (That won't cover the whole situation, it's rather a two sentenc

In many (not all) times, these "universal installers" are only a small number of POSIX-compilant shell lines followed by some Base64-encoded binary. The whole purpose of the shell commands is to extract this binary.

You probably were careful enough to understand the limits of the Jupyter server and client (frontend). It's easy to screw up a terminal application in data science when dumping a large array. Many REPLs cannot handle this properly (and

Something which comes handy for me in everyday life is sudo -s which gives you a root (login) shell, so you don't have to type "sudo" in front of every single command.

Sounds funny, but I would like to join some room without registering first. I don't see why this service needs my E-Mail adress just that I can have some seconds (minutes? hours?) of fun.

Obviously it's pretty hard to make general criticism of the Notebook GUI. This is especially without comparing to a specific other user interface for data scientists, such as a traditional REPL terminal, or some other command line too

If you are interested in this kind of documentation (or style in general), you should check out literate programming . Some of Knuth's ideas are implemented as code processors for almost any programming language.

If your portfolio is only needed to put an URL into a CV so people can see your code, then it doesn't matter. If you want to show that people "liked" and "followed" your repositories, you probably should go to GitHu

This is great work. But I don't understand the key point. Is this all to counterfeit OCR? By just using this font in my office program? My gut feeling is that, given enough work, one can write some ML/AI algorithm to write OCR als

Something people frequently forget is the easiness of the "vanilla" (plain) technology, like HTML, CSS, JavaScript. It is worth learning these basics regardless of whether you want to hide them behind stacks of frameworks or not.

Used a Mac in the same time and it was gorgeous. For the sake of their mobile OS ("unification") and for some foolish reason of abandoning OSS (like CUPS and the like), OS X is no more the same as it used to be.
