The law of supply and demand states that if you raise the cost of something, you will get less of it. Say you can produce a certain amount of widgets out of a given resource, but with research you can produce more widgets, and that you ca

Many others will likely get this wish against their will. Really? I suspect that if you offered a million one way tickets to mars and advertised it as almost certain death, they would sell out in less than an hour.

This was the main thing I was referring to about the labour shortages - Additionally, last week Chinese state-run news media reported that several vocational schools in the city of Huai’an, in eastern China, required hundreds of students t

In that case it was extremely well matched with the one which preceded it. But if you are going to make ridiculous demands in lieu of argument, then you shouldn't really expect much of value in return.

Apple is in the unique position of also owning a dominant ecosystem of media devices that have nothing to do with USB, micro-USB, or any variant thereof. Umm... globally it doesn't, and most of it's market is outside the US, where it is f

The way I think about it is this: If there is a limited supply of a good that is highly desired by the richest in society, and if price is used as an indicator of quality for that good, then it is the connection between the cost and the con

When you separate the cost from the consumer, prices skyrocket. Not always. Cost of education in the UK has skyrocketed more since the scrapping of grants in favour of a loans+tuition fees model. Part of this is that when there is a marke

Make something covered in glass that people are going to carry in their pocket. This makes people worry about scratching the phone, they want to take care of the phone, to protect it. This triggers an emotional bond with the product.
