I'm extremely upset by her death as she was a real hero of mine. I was homeless in the 00's and could code and it was my way out of being homeless. I used to go to the internet cafe on Tottenham Court Road in London to hone my ski

Ford spending $4 million to fund scholarships is going to make as much change to the system as me giving a homeless person a quarter. Considering how expensive college is, what exactly will that fund.

Is that because there is a pressure to publish? As I wouldn't say we make advancements at a rate any different during the last two decades than we have over the 20 years prior to that.

Yes, it's true we have been and are only becoming a heartless country exclusively focusing on making an enemy of difference whilst lining the pockets of the wealthiest even further.

The issue is tech isn't as simple as that, vpn's are key in many jobs, are they banned? It is the same issue when they ask for backdoors in every messaging app. It is rational if you don't think any deeper than surface level

Lawmakers in general have less than one percent knowledge on what they make laws on. I look forward to them all logging in remotely after the ban. The key change is needed with things such as meshtastic and lora. Taking things out of the ha

I have always been an offline only guy but I do see the need to build for the web. I feel small good at one thing tools are as useful as ever and can still have a place. The issue is people thinking every tool they need, use, or build, need

Classic tech is still a source of very important lessons, and potentially software and hardware options. Both in regards to focusing on building for the hardware, saving energy and power, but also even in relation to software that had it&#x

The Open in Open AI maybe the most inaccurate advertising ever. I am sensing they realised there is no way of making the cash they need to keep going, just by providing what they currently provide, and I am not remotely upset by that. Sam A

I mean Wikipedia is referenced and well sourced so it is a perfectly valid source in this day and age. I read papers weekly and they are full of more lies or dishonesty than Wikipedia nowadays where there is a desire to publish often.

Why exactly have ICE been given limitless power? Facial recognition is at best right more than half the time, but many studies have shown it to be consistently faulty leading to many wrong ID's. What is the point of a database with inc

I doubt the Guardian has any reason to lie about the documents they have seen. Based on the interactions regarding their war crimes, are you arguing Israel have not basically declared themselves above the law in many ways?

This endless bowing down to Israel is and always will be ridiculous. When a country can do whatever they like unchallenged, no matter how wrong, or how illegal, we have failed as a society.

I saw the Asimo demonstration at the Miraikan in Tokyo (it's not still on but the rest of the museum is great if you are nearby) and I still look back fondly on it today. I saw it too late (2017 and 2019) for it to feel like the future

I do find a gaming laptop usually has far worse battery life over a dedicated workstation laptop, plus it isn't something you can really carry with you day to day. A Zbook or a thinkpad is both not super heavy and does fit in.
