I'm at Stanford, and at least within the CS department, the online classes are nothing like you describe. Some professors are using video recordings from previous quarters, while in many other cases, it _is_ some off-the-cuff Zoom meet

Yeah, I don't want unlimited freedom of speech. Some types of speech are harmful with little benefit, from my perspective. I don't see the justification for making it permissible to yell "fire" in a movie theater.

I don't think they need to screen all content in real time, but they certainly could use more people in reviewing flagged content and resolving disputes. This seems to be where all the major complaints -- it's just so hard to get

Unless you are doing work that involves lots of tiny particulate matter (and even if you do), I think 50 n95 masks is pretty darn excessive. Most people don't even wear them correctly.

You almost crash at least 4 times a day?? I have no stats but I don't think that's normal. You should be driving much more defensively if that's the case.

I feel like this is some slippery slope logic. Just because human rights violations exist elsewhere doesn't mean we should ignore human rights violations in one place.

This article feels a little fishy to me. The title says an "investigation says" "Indiana manipulated a report," but there's no evidence to suggest this besides one person's claims and it doesn't seem there

I want to chime in with one editor that I think nailed a markdown WYSIWYG: https://www.typora.io/ It's hard to explain the concept with just words, but I will try: While you're typing, markdown is fully exposed, b

This is a _single_ pass/no pass unit out of 180 required to graduate. Stanford absolutely focuses on creating great engineers (or computer scientists, for those more interested in the math or theory sides), but it still helps to have a

Oh, come on. I think you are exaggerating quite a bit here. This is a single pass/no pass unit out of 180 units required for graduation, and, as a Stanford CS student, I can assure you the other classes are extremely rigorous. I don&#x

If someone could explain how this works to someone who only understands basic circuits, that would be much appreciated. How does it maintain state and draw shapes on the oscilloscope and trigger sounds with such basic components? Amazing!
